  • Patent number: 7623873
Abstract: The present invention reduces the number of location registration signals transmitted by slave terminals of gateway terminals forming ad hoc networks. Information on the current location of a gateway terminal is acquired. On the basis of the current location information acquired, a plurality of gateway terminals are grouped into a location registration area. Location registration area information indicative of the location registration area is transmitted to a mobile terminal mastered by the gateway terminal. The slave mobile terminal transmits a location registration signal only if the location registration area information has been changed. This makes it possible to reduce the number of location registration signals transmitted by the slave terminals compared to the case in which the gateway terminals are not grouped.

  • Patent number: 7512105
Abstract: A routing method in an ad hoc network formed by a plurality of mobile terminals includes receiving, at a mobile terminal forming part of the ad hoc network, a packet generated by an adjacent terminal, and determining, at the mobile terminal, whether to relay the received packet or not, based on presence or absence of a record of packet relaying by the adjacent terminal.
