    Abstract: A new process for isolation of a phenolic glycoside from Neem bark aqueous extract. This phenolic glycoside is highly potent in inhibiting gastric acid secretion and stress-induced gastric ulceration. The aqueous extract is lyophilised and the powder is extracted with petroleum ether. The insoluble residue is extracted with solvents of increasing polarity and the final residue is subjected to HPLC using a reverse phase column to isolate the active compound.
