  • Patent number: 6821078
Abstract: A docking mechanism for mounting in a vehicle movably supports a separable chair. The docking mechanism has a turntable, fixed in the vehicle, carrying arms with an articulated lifting device to move the chair vertically and horizontally along the arms. In operation, the chair is maneuvered over the lifting device, outside the vehicle, and raised vertically then moved horizontally along the arms to a stowed position inside the vehicle. The chair has powered supporting wheels which are steerable and retractable for stowing. In this manner, an occupant of the chair may enter and exit a vehicle without leaving the chair.

  • Patent number: 6113175
Abstract: An automobile seat having provisions for assisting an individual during entering and exiting of a automobile. One embodiment discloses the displacement of a portion of a bench seat to a position external to the confines of the automobile. The extended seat permits an individual to be situated on the seat at a position outside the automobile wherein retraction of the seat into the automobile, by use of a mechanical slide that can be electrically driven, thereby assists an individual in entering of the automobile. Conversely, extension of the seat during egress conveniently positions an individual outside the automobile.

  • Patent number: 5680094
Abstract: A key reminder device for use in combination with a key lock mechanism having an adjustable timer with a predetermined timer interval electrically coupled to a replaced power supply. The timer is energized upon detection of a conventional key inserted into the key lock mechanism. Should the key remain in the key lock mechanism beyond a predetermined time, the timer will activate an audible alarm to remind the owner of the keys to remove them. Should the timer be set at a low level, the device operates to indicate the presence of a key. When used in combination with a visual indicator, the key reminder provides an indicator of door entry to the hearing impaired.

  • Patent number: 5517381
Abstract: A counter indicator for circuit breakers maintaining a running count of the number of times that a circuit breaker has been tripped and providing a visual indication of a tripped condition. The counter indicator employs time delay circuitry so as to allow the circuit breaker to be switched manually for purposes of testing without registering a tripped condition. A two stage binary coded decimal counter visually displays the amount of counts that the breaker has been tripped or alternatively when a switch handle has been placed in an intermediate position. The device is powered by an independent battery source providing a continuous power supply to maintain memory and power to a visual display only upon detection of a tripped circuit.

  • Patent number: 5051731
Abstract: A circuit breaker assembly incorporating a light emitting diode as an indicator when an overload condition is present and the circuit has been blown and further wherein the assembly includes an integral, internally placed load in the form of a capacitance sufficient to energize the light emitting diode when the load normally present in the circuit has been removed. The capacitance is connected in series with the light emitting diode as well as an external ground contact for providing the ground return for energizing the light emitting diode.

  • Patent number: 4936627
Abstract: A retractable child seat for main seat assemblies and pivotally mounted thereto. The child seat includes a seat member and a back member pivotally mounted to each other and the main seat assembly includes a pivotally mounted platform cushion where the child seat is supported by a rail assembly that allows to slidably move back and forth. Under a different embodiment, the child seat is built inside the back member of the main seat and the child seat portion is pivotally mounted thereon. Another embodiment houses the child seat inside the seat member of the main seat when not in use and a user can bring it out through supporting members pivotally mounted to structural elements inside the seat member of the main seat.

  • Patent number: 4757250
Abstract: A three-conductor booster cable assembly is disclosed for connection of a source of DC power to the terminals of a battery requiring recharging. The uniqueness of this assembly is based upon a combination of features including (a) modification of the terminal clamps on the cable ends to insure that the opposing jaws of each clamp are and remain open when not in contact with the positive terminals of either the battery or power source, (b) the provision of two separate conductors for connection of the positive terminal clamps to the positive terminal of the power source to the positive terminal of the battery to be recharged and (c) control circuitry specific for a three-conductor booster cable assembly. Because of these and other features, the control circuit logic is now capable of preventing arcing of the positive terminal clamps should they become inadvertently disconnected from the terminals once the transfer of power from the power source to the battery has been initiated.

  • Patent number: 4701688
Abstract: A safety booster cable assembly for connecting a d.c. source to a receiving battery including a normally open relay interrupting the electrical connection between one of the two pairs of electrodes. Circuitry is provided for closing the contact of the relay when the electrodes being connected are of similar polarities. Time delay circuitry is included so that the relay contact is closed after a certain predetermined amount of time has passed so that sparks are prevented from the movement or scratching of the cable clips on the electrodes. Light emitting diodes are connected between the electrodes of the D.C. source and receiving battery so that they illuminate when the correct polarity is observed in the connection of the cable clips.

  • Patent number: 4611201
Abstract: A magnetically actuated illuminating warning device for conventional circuit breakers of the type that have a switch assembly with three possible positions for its switch lever. A battery powered illuminating device is mounted in the vicinity of the breaker and the illuminating circuit is interrupted by a magnetically actuated switch that is closed when a permanent magnet mounted on the switch lever comes within a predetermined distance. The position of the magnetic switch is selected so that it is actuated or closed when the switch lever is in the overload position.

  • Patent number: 4573604
Abstract: An improvement for conventional soda containers that have a bottle member with a rounded bottom resting on a cylindrical base. The improvement including a peripheral skirt positioned at a predetermined uniform distance from the rounded bottom so that the upper edge of the cylindrical base fits snuggly between the inner wall of the bottle thereby preventing any tilting or rocking of the bottle on its base. A rivet is integrally built in on the bottom of the bottle and, with a cooperating receiving hole in the base, provides a firm attachment between the bottle member and the base.
