  • Patent number: 9197877
Abstract: A smart pseudoscopic to orthoscopic conversion (SPOC) protocol, and method for using the SPOC protocol for three-dimensional imaging, are disclosed. The method allows full control over the optical display parameters in Integral Imaging (InI) monitors. From a given collection of elemental images, a new set of synthetic elemental images (SEIs) ready to be displayed in an InI monitor can be calculated, in which the pitch, microlenses focal length, number of pixels per elemental cell, depth position of the reference plane, and grid geometry of the microlens array (MLA) can be selected to fit the conditions of the display architecture.

  • Publication number: 20140347628
Abstract: The invention relates to a fundus camera that incorporates an integral imaging system for capturing an integral photograph of the fundus. This integral photograph enables projecting a three-dimensional image and generating topographical maps of the fundus. The fundus camera can function plenoptically and thus zoom onto a two-dimensional image generated from the integral photograph. The proposed equipment consists of an optical system for illuminating the fundus and an optical system forming the integral image capture system. This capture system includes an ophthalmoscopic lens, a microlens array and a sensor, and it allows recording, in a single shot, multiple views of the fundus. To improve the resolution of the integral photograph, the capture system has a device that allows displacing the microlens array by a few microns.

  • Publication number: 20090262182
Abstract: A three-dimensional imaging apparatus for imaging a three-dimensional object may include a microlens array, a sensor device, and a telecentric relay system positioned between the microlens array and the sensor device. A telecentric relay system may include a field lens and a macro objective that may include a macro lens and an aperture stop. A method of imaging a three-dimensional object may include providing a three-dimensional imaging apparatus including a microlens array, a sensor device, and a telecentric relay system positioned between the microlens array and the sensor device; and generating a plurality of elemental images on the sensor device, wherein each of the plurality of elemental images has a different perspective of the three-dimensional object.
