  • Patent number: 5551872
Abstract: A device for obtaining dental impressions to be used in the subsequent fabrication of a prosthesis. The dental impression device permits a more accurate impression by minimizing the interference typically encountered from the patient's segregation of saliva and/or the movement of his tongue. With a cooperating cover member that receives the U-shaped housing a dentist can force the moldable setting material conventionally used to conform to the area of the mouth being worked on. Openings selectively positioned on the upper wall of the housing member permit the injection of moldable material and other activities. A suction conduct is peripherally disposed around the lower edge of the U-shaped housing.

  • Patent number: 5533898
Abstract: A dental implant device for mounting prosthesis and minimizing the lodging of extraneous substances in interstitial spaces. A root form implant fixture is permanently implanted in a user's jaw bone. The fixture includes anchorage and engagement sections. The engagement section includes a cylindrical portion adjacent to the anchorage section, a beveled portion that is adjacent to and coaxially disposed with respect to the cylindrical portion and a hexagonal portion adjacent to and coaxially disposed with respect to the beveled portion.

  • Patent number: 5472450
Abstract: An improvement for medical and dental instruments of the type that include two handle legs joined by a pivoting joint. The improvement provides for opposite and cooperating curved portions that, when brought towards each other, define a gripping area capable of firmly holding a safety cap or carpule for syringe needles thereby avoiding possible injuries to the user. The internal walls of the curved portions are provided with irregularities or serrations to enhance their gripping function on the carpule. In all instruments, the separation of the curved portions to the area where a user applies the actuating force has been maximized to minimize the likelihood of accidental injury.
