    Abstract: SIP is a popular protocol used in communications over IP, which however is incompatible with many other protocols used for the set-up of calls in other networks. SIP-based transactions are converted through the use of a grammar by a proxy user agent (110) into a format which is usable by non-SIP capable end user devices, e.g., a mobile phone, such that the end user devices (116) has access on services and applications which use SIP-based transactions.
