Patent number: 10972962Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling basic service set (BSS) identifiers (BSSIDs). A group of BSSs may form a Multiple BSSID set in which one BSS sent management frames on behalf of other BSSs (referred to as non-transmitting BSSIDs). For example, a management frame (such as a Beacon Frame or Probe Response Frame) may include a list of BSSIDs for some or all of the non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. Publication number: 20190297561Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for wireless communications and, more particularly, methods and apparatus for providing channel information for multiband operation. The techniques presented herein may help a device (such as an access point) efficiently advertise availability of support in different frequency bands. The signaling techniques presented herein provide, in some cases, for self-contained signaling with sufficient information for a receiving device to efficiently establish operating links in one or more other bands. Publication number: 20190268892Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for co-located Basic Service Sets (BSSs). A BSS refers to an access point (AP), wireless channel configuration, and associated stations (STAs). In one aspect, a wireless local area network (WLAN) apparatus may operate multiple virtual access points (VAPs) and multiple BSSs. The BSS may be considered co-located if they are implemented in the same physical device (such as a WLAN apparatus). Furthermore, the BSSs may be considered co-hosted if they share the same band and wireless channel, but independently signal different management frames. To aid STAs in learning about the co-located or co-hosted BSSs, the present disclosure provides techniques to advertise the co-located or co-hosted BSSs. Further improvements for co-hosted BSSs include the use of control frames that can aggregate information for more than one co-hosted BSS sharing a same wireless channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2019Publication date: August 29, 2019Inventors: Ravi Gidvani, Abhishek Pramod Patil, Alfred Asterjadhi, George Cherian

Publication number: 20190007903Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication in a neighbor aware network (NAN). In one aspect, a first device of a wireless network (such as a NAN), in response to detecting a low power condition, may transmit a beacon including a power indicator. Patent number: 10128999Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. An access point may use a protection mechanism to cause stations to defer from accessing the wireless medium during a quiet duration. During the quiet duration the access point may transmit data packets to stations. After the quiet duration, a contention period may be present to allow stations to monitor the medium to make sure the medium is continuously idle before attempting a transmission. The access point may determine a quiet duration based on a number of data packets pending transmission to at least one station. Furthermore, the access point may transmit data packets to a number of stations during the quiet duration. By determining the quiet duration based on a number of data packets, the access point may reduce the overall number of contention periods which may increase throughput and decrease power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2015Date of Patent: November 13, 2018Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ravi Gidvani, Srinivasa Kumar Duvvuri
