  • Patent number: 9407303
Abstract: A technique for generating a processing filter is provided. The processing filter allows for processing data that is received in a mobile communication network on multiple branches. A method embodiment of the technique includes the steps of determining a covariance of noise on the multiple branches and computing the processing filter based on the noise covariance. The computation includes a Cholesky decomposition of the noise covariance and a matrix inversion based on a result of the Cholesky decomposition, wherein the Cholesky decomposition uses a first numerical representation and the matrix inversion uses a second numerical representation that is more complex than the first numerical representation.

  • Patent number: 9118377
Abstract: A system and method are provided for estimating interference power at a receiver antenna in a communications systems receiver, in which an interference type signal associated with a received radio signal is detected, an in-band interference power associated with the received radio signal is determined, and an interference power at the antenna is estimated using the determined in-band interference power and the detected interference type. Estimating the interference power at the antenna includes interpolating the determined in-band interference power using scaling factors determined by the interference type signal associated with the received radio signal. The system and method determine in-band carrier power associated with the radio signal based on a channel estimate h(k), and the in-band interference information is based on interference samples I(n).

  • Patent number: 9065586
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus is arranged to detect, among a plurality of modulated carrier signals of different frequencies, at least one of the modulated carrier signals modulated with a tone burst. A receiver provides a composite signal comprising the plurality of modulated carrier signals received simultaneously. An ADC generates samples of the composite signal, and the samples of the composite signal are divided into a plurality of blocks. The samples of each block are transformed into frequency domain components, and the frequency domain components of each block are divided into a plurality of groups, each group corresponding to a range of frequencies occupied by a different one of the modulated carrier signals. Tone burst detection is performed on each group, and it is determined which of the modulated carrier signals is modulated with the tone burst, according to which of the groups the tone burst is detected in.
