  • Publication number: 20230379079
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for false positive detections of DCI requests to switch BWPs. A UE may receive a DCI request to switch from a first BWP to a second BWP and may reject the DCI request for a switch from the first BWP to the second BWP based on at least one of a conflict with a TDD pattern associated with the DCI request, a DCI decoder metric, or a number of error-corrected modulation symbols that indicates a false positive detection of the DCI request.

  • Publication number: 20180359284
Abstract: A dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual standby (DSDS) device may determine that the DSDS device is to communicate in a first communication session of the DSDS device instead of a second communication session of the DSDS device when the first communication session of the DSDS device and the second communication session of the DSDS device are contemporaneously active. The DSDS device may generate a session initiation protocol (SIP) message to pause the second communication session with another device based on the determination that the DSDS device is to communicate in the first communication session instead of the second communication session associated with the DSDS device. The DSDS device may transmit the generated SIP message to the other device associated with second communication session to pause the second communication session associated with the other device.

  • Patent number: 10057880
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for providing notifications in a communication network of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In an aspect, a supervisor device in the communication network detects a notification directed to a wireless mobile device in the communication network and sends at least one instruction to at least a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices to reduce an operating volume or suspend operation of the first IoT device. The first IoT device receives the at least one instruction from the supervisor device and reduces the operating volume of the IoT device or suspends the operation of the IoT device in response to the at least one instruction.

  • Publication number: 20180220329
Abstract: A multi-subscriber identification module (SIM) wireless communication device with a first SIM and a second SIM associated with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource may determine that timing collisions are predicted between an active period of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle associated with the first SIM and an active period of a DRX cycle associated with the second SIM. In response, the wireless communication device may determine whether the first SIM is registered with an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to use Voice-over-wireless local area network (VoWLAN) service over a wireless local area network (WLAN). If the first SIM is registered with the IMS to use VoWLAN service over the WLAN, the wireless communication device may shift the conflicting DRX cycle associated with the first SIM by a time margin, and receive paging messages for mobile terminating calls on the modem stack associated with the first SIM over the WLAN.

  • Publication number: 20170215116
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus to prevent poor quality handoff decisions in mobile networks. The methods and apparatus effectuate a determination whether a predetermined condition concerning a cell has occurred as detected in the mobile device, such as unsuccessful handoff or a signal to noise ratio being less than a certain amount. Based on such determinations, poor quality handoff decisions can be realized by modifying or configuring the measurement report message to be sent to the serving network where the measurement report is configured to omit information concerning those cells not meeting the predetermined condition. Accordingly, these cells will not be considered in handoff decisions, thus increasing the quality of such decisions.

  • Publication number: 20160381710
Abstract: In a multi-subscription wireless communication device with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource, when there is an active data communication associated with the first SIM, a tune-away may be performed to support a subscription on a second SIM. After tuning to the second network to receive data during an assigned time slot in a frame capable of carrying a common control channel the wireless communication device may determine whether a message granting or denying the requested channel access can be recovered or excluded, and skip receiving remaining frames for the message and stop tune-aways when a message granting the requested channel access can be excluded. In some embodiments determining whether the message can be excluded may include determining whether a signal-to-noise ratio for the received data burst is greater than 10 dB, and if so, determining whether the decoded data can be identified as part of a paging message.

  • Patent number: 9313630
Abstract: Real-time Short Message Service (SMS) messaging between an originating device such as a mobile device or Short Message Entity (SME) and a destination device such as a mobile device or SME. The real-time SMS messaging may be provided by initiating a call session between the originating device and the destination device, sending the SMS message within the call session, and terminating the call session prior to establishment of dedicated call traffic resources. In some embodiments, existing mobile protocol stacks may be employed by using existing voice call setup procedures to initiate the call session before sending the SMS message. In some embodiments, call session protocol stacks are extended to provide for an indication of a real-time SMS session type in the call session setup signaling. Real-time SMS messaging may be offered as a value added service, according to various embodiments. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
