  • Publication number: 20230358424
Abstract: A method of operating an environmental control system, the method including at a thermostat, identifying a controller in the environmental control system as a secondary controller; training the secondary controller by transferring setpoints from the thermostat to the secondary controller; detecting a failure in the thermostat indicating that the thermostat no longer controlling the environmental control system; in response to the failure in the thermostat, controlling the environmental control system using the secondary controller.

  • Patent number: 11570792
Abstract: Aspects of the invention are directed towards a system and a method for configuring a communication interval of one or more sensing devices. One or more embodiments of the invention describe a method comprising steps of receiving a signal strength value from one or more sensing devices and determining an apparent distance between a regulating device and each of the one or more sensing devices based on the signal strength value. The method further comprising step dynamically ranking the one or more sensing devices based on the apparent distance and based on the ranking of the one or more sensing devices, configuring a communication interval for each of the one or more sensing devices.

  • Patent number: 11570685
Abstract: A sensing system includes a wireless sensor configured to detect a current sensed value of an environmental condition, the wireless sensor programmed with a delta threshold; a thermostat in communication with the wireless sensor; wherein, when the current sensed value differs from a prior transmitted sensed value by more than the delta threshold, the wireless sensor transmits the current sensed value to the thermostat; wherein, when the current sensed value differs from the prior transmitted sensed value by less than the delta threshold, the wireless sensor stores the current sensed value as a stored sensed value.

  • Publication number: 20220290889
Abstract: A system and a method for correctly associating damper/s with sensor/s installed in a building. A method includes transmitting one or more commands to one or more dampers associated with one or more zones for controlling a parameter in each zone. The method also includes receiving parameter values for each of the zones sensed by a respective sensor located in an associated zone and determining whether the parameter values received from the respective sensor correspond to the associated zone. The method further includes determining an incorrect damper and sensor association if at least one of the parameter values do not correspond to the associated zone and logically mapping a correct damper and sensor association for each of the zones.
