Abstract: A method is described that allows data owned by a user to be stored in a secure manner at a third party site or service provider such that the third party is unable to read or use that data. Further, the user's data is made available to the user from any machine and location by holding the keys necessary for the encryption and decryption of the data at a designated keyholder location that the user has access to.

Abstract: An mechanism to provide untethered client side access to copyrighted content in order to maintain the digital rights associated with that particular content and service. This client also provides a mechanism to deliver multiple content items requested via a single transaction and distributed via various distribution points. Also provides a mechanism to dynamically mange key stores and digital rights on permanent and transient access devices. The client also provides ability to add digital content at the time of purchase to third party locker services other than the retailer, and to secure memory devices.

Abstract: A method is described for finding areas of a signal which survive multiple transcodings and signal conversions. Then using these identified areas and associated meta data to insert in real-time hard to detect traceable watermarks in a secure and robust manner. Also a means of extracting the marks from pilfered or suspect digital signal using such information.

Abstract: A method of enabling real-time watermarking of digital works prior to distribution of digital work. The method entails maintaining a central repository of fingerprint meta-data of digital works so that upon a request for insertion of watermark in a digital work, the watermarking application communicates with the central repository and receives fingerprint meta-data which provides information regarding where to insert said watermarks. The method also enables a method of extraction of watermarks based on fingerprint meta-data. Furthermore, the fingerprint meta-data can be utilized to search for digital works of similar characteristics and to block digital works that are illegal copies of the digital work.

Abstract: A digital-works Clearinghouse comprises a database, which stores meta-information relating to digital-works and a server configured to coordinate digital-works transactions, distribution, auditing, tracking, monitoring, advertisement insertion and collection of meta-data of a digital work such that, a digital-work Publisher can remotely monitor a digital work by communicating with the Clearinghouse server regarding the digital work. Furthermore, the digital-works Clearinghouse comprises a software application that is modular and is given to the digital-works Distributor's such that it is responsible for enabling copyright protection, distribution, distribution auditing and communicating with Clearinghouse and other Distributors whereby a Publisher can remotely monitor their digital work.
