    Abstract: An apparatus for producing hydrogen (H2) includes an electrolyzer configured to produce H2 gas from steam and a catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) reformer. The CPO reformer is coupled to the electrolyzer and configured to utilize byproducts of the electrolyzer as input to produce more H2. The electrolyzer is coupled to the CPO reformer to utilize steam and heat byproducts from the CPO reformer as input to the electrolyzer.
