  • Publication number: 20220230482
Abstract: A computer-implemented centralized rating system for evaluating driver's performance using one or more passenger data is disclosed. The system comprises a computing device having a processor and a memory in communication with the processor, a database in communication with the computing device, and one or more user device in communication with the computing device via a network, wherein one user device is associated with a driver and another user device is associated with a passenger. The system monitors the movements of the driver along with one or more passengers in a vehicular navigation mode of transport. The system captures the accelerometer and generates synchronized timestamps as well as the accelerometer readings from the user device of the driver and passengers. The system further comprises a system-created metrics for capturing eccentric and excessive swerves, abrupt, jerky stops, and bumps in driver performance.

  • Publication number: 20060155679
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product provides improved performance for queries on local partitioned indexes. A method of performing a database query comprises receiving a query of spatial data in a database, the database comprising at least one partitioned spatial index, obtaining metadata relating to all partitions of the spatial index using array-fetching techniques, determining, for each partition, whether the partition is relevant to the query by comparing with “footprint” (root_mbr) information stored in the metadata for the partition, and processing the query on each relevant partition.

  • Publication number: 20060074977
Abstract: The present invention provides techniques by which updates may be incorporated in database indexes without causing deadlocks of user transactions. In deferred-incorporate update, the updates are propagated to the index only at transaction commit time. A method of handling transactions including updates in a database management system comprises the steps of receiving an update to a database maintained by the database management system, the update operable to cause an index of the database to be modified, recording the update in a log, and receiving an indication that the transaction is to be committed and in response, incorporating the update from the log into an index of the database. The update may comprise an insert operation and/or a delete operation.

  • Publication number: 20050203932
Abstract: Quicker and more efficient processing of spatial queries is provided when the query window has holes. A method for evaluating a spatial query comprises receiving a spatial query defining a query window including a void, identifying an interior circle for the query window, wherein the interior circle includes a void, and processing the spatial query efficiently in one of the following two alternate ways: (1) modifying the at least one interior circle to exclude the void, and using the modified interior circle to evaluate the spatial query by checking if a data mbr is inside the modified interior circle and if it does, including the data item in the query result set. Or (2) by checking for a data MBR is inside the interior circle and if so, checking if the data MBR intersects the MBRs of any of the voids, and including the data item in the query result set if there is no intersection.
