    Abstract: A clamp for sanitary fittings includes a clamp body formed of a first arcuate member and a second arcuate member movable about a hinge assembly from an open configuration to a closed, latched configuration. The hinge assembly detachably couples the first arcuate member to the second arcuate member. The hinge assembly includes an arcuate finger extending from an end of the first arcuate member, a pin-receiving recess formed within the arcuate finger, and a post formed on an end of the second arcuate member. Upon assembly, the arcuate finger cradles around the post and the post fits within the pin-receiving recess.

    Abstract: A male bayonet connector connects a section of tubing to a female latch connector. The male bayonet connector includes a shaft defining a lumen, a distal end portion, and a proximal end portion. The distal end portion of the shaft has a sealing surface configured to engage a seal member within the female latch connector to create a fluid-tight seal. The shaft defines an annular recess proximal to and adjacent the distal end portion. The annular recess has a proximal chamfered side wall and a distal sidewall perpendicular to the axis of the lumen, which are separated by a band of smaller diameter than the sealing surface. A grip is formed on the male bayonet connector between the proximal end portion and the annular recess. A ratio of a length of the first sealing surface to a distance between the grip and the distal sidewall is such that a side-load force, as imparted on the male bayonet connector, will not break a fluid-tight seal between the sealing surface and the seal member.

    Abstract: A sanitary fitting has a flange portion, a connector portion, and a parabolic entrance disposed therebetween. The flange portion has a planar ring surface that defines a central opening. The connector portion defines a lumen extending from the central opening toward an outlet port. The parabolic entrance surface extends from the planar ring surface and transitions into the connector portion to define a portion of the lumen. One or more suction-relief ribs may be arranged along the surface of the flange portion and extend into the parabolic entrance. The suction-relief ribs may have a twisting curvature for causing rotation of fluid flow through the sanitary fitting.

Depressing the release button disengages the latch allowing separation of the assembly.
