Abstract: Social media communications can be shared between disparate device types such as a mobile device and a television. A new social-media communication can be generated by identifying a user profile and media to be shared. A signed unform resource locator (URL) and unique identifier may be generated for the new social-media communication to enabling sharing the media with another device. The media may be uploaded and processed using the signed URL. For example, the media may be transcoded into a format based on the processing and/or display capabilities of a device associated with the user profile. The transcoded media may be stored in association with the signed URL. A notification corresponding to the social-media communication may be transmitted to the device associated with the user profile to enable access to the media.

Abstract: A disclosed system and method relate to presenting a program guide that includes information associated with an instance of programming, including audio information and visual information. A request for the information associated with the instance of programming is received, and a determination is made whether delivery of the first audio information could be completed within a threshold time after receiving the request. The audio information is provided to a user in connection with the visual information when the delivery of the first audio information could be completed within the threshold time. Alternatively, when the delivery of the first audio information could not be completed within the first threshold time, other audio information associated with the instance of the programming is obtained and provided to the user in connection with the visual information.
