    Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering information to a dormant target mobile provides for sending the information when no dedicated traffic channel is established. In one embodiment, the method provides for sending the information in short data bursts. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments provide for a significant reduction in the actual total dormancy wakeup time by exchanging group call signaling even when the target mobiles are dormant and no traffic channel is active.
