  • Publication number: 20090094605
Abstract: The present invention employs a master node for each job to be scheduled and in turn the master node distributes job start information and executable tasks to a plurality of nodes configured in a hierarchical node tree of a multinode job scheduling system. The status of the various tasks executing at the leaf nodes and other nodes of the tree report status back up the same hierarchical tree structure used to start the job, not to a scheduling agent but rather to the master node which has been established by the scheduling agent as the focal point, not only for job starting, but also for the reporting of status information from the leaf and other nodes in the tree.

  • Patent number: 7487472
Abstract: Synchronous communications between a public electronic environment (e.g., a browser on a global computer network) and a private electronic environment (e.g., an ERP application on a private computer network) are facilitated by automatically routing a communication from the browser to the ERP application through messaging middleware, obtaining by the messaging middleware a reply from the ERP application in response to the communication while the browser and messaging middleware wait therefor, and automatically returning the reply from the ERP application to the browser. Encryption and firewalls are also used for security.

  • Publication number: 20080232080
Abstract: A polarization plate is provided for use between a light source and a display panel, where the light source is configured to emit light having a plurality of planes of polarization and the display panel is configured to have a predetermined polarization axis. The plate includes a repolarization region and a prepolarization region. The repolarization region is configured to diffuse and to depolarize or rotate at least one plane of polarization of the light passing therethrough. The prepolarization region is disposed adjacent to and in contact with the repolarization region. The prepolarization region is configured to be substantially nonabsorbent, to allow passage of light having a plane of polarization that is substantially aligned with the predetermined polarization axis, and to prevent passage of light having a plane of polarization that is not substantially aligned with the predetermined polarization axis. In another embodiment, an interface is provided between the regions.
