Abstract: An information handling system may include a processor and a management controller configured to provide out-of-band management facilities for management of the information handling system, the management controller further configured to, in response to a triggering event for collecting a hardware inventory, collect identifying information for information handling resources of the information handling system and a location for each of the information handling resources, order the identifying information in accordance with a schema for ordering the identifying information, concatenate the identifying information into a string in accordance with the schema, generate a signature from the string, compare the signature to an existing inventory signature for the information handling system, and generate a notification in response to the signature mismatching the existing inventory signature.

Abstract: Technology described herein relates to management of operational execution by one or more plugins, services and/or consoles of a computing system. A method can comprise registering, by a conflict resolution manager (CRM) controller of a system, a subset of control components of a set of control components of the system, wherein the registering comprises logging operation capabilities of the subset of control components, ranking, by the CRM controller, respective control components of the subset, wherein the ranking is performed based on an operation comprised by the operation capabilities, and generating, by the CRM controller, a permission for performance of the operation by a selected control component of the subset having a highest rank determined by the ranking. The control components can comprise a plugin of, or to be installed at, at least one of the system or a management console of the system, which can be a computing system.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining data associated with a volatile storage device and a non-volatile storage device of an information handling system during a normal mode of operation of the information handling system, and calculating a first data transfer frequency and a first transfer data size from the volatile storage device to the non-volatile storage device based on the data associated with the volatile storage device and the non-volatile storage device during the normal mode of operation of the information handling system. The method also includes detecting an event indicating a power outage of the information handling system, and in response to the detecting the event, determining a data management policy to be applied to the information handling system during the safe mode of operation of the information handling system.

Abstract: Method and systems provide automated configuration of replaceable hardware components of a chassis comprising a plurality of IHSs (Information Handling Systems) and a plurality of storage devices that are configured to support demands of a specific computing solution designed for a particular computing task. The IHSs may be computing sleds and the storage devices may be storage sleds, where the sleds are coupled within bays of the chassis. Processes operating on the IHSs monitor for changes to settings related to the first computing solution. A chassis management controller detects updates to the replaceable hardware components that are coupled to the chassis and determines supported settings for detected new hardware components. Parameters for configuring the new hardware components for supporting the first computing solution are selected and used to configure the new hardware components.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for managing a plurality of edge devices based on a predicted network bandwidth utilization includes: identifying a plurality of management tasks associated with the plurality of edge devices, each of the plurality of management tasks associated with a priority; determining a management task of the plurality of management tasks to be assigned to an edge device of the plurality of edge devices; accessing a time series indicating the predicted network bandwidth utilization of the plurality of edge devices; generating a threshold value for the management task based on the time series, the threshold value corresponding to a percentage of the predicted network bandwidth utilization and including one or more available time slots; determining that the predicted network bandwidth utilization is less than the threshold value; and assigning the management task to the edge device.

A management controller of the chassis initiates a process for identifying a plurality of hardware and software capabilities of the chassis. Based on the identified capabilities, computing solutions, such as specialized computation and storage functions, supported by the chassis are determined. The computing solutions supported by the capabilities of the chassis are encoded, such as within a set of compatibility bits. Upon detecting updates to the hardware and software capabilities of the chassis, the encoded compatibility bits are used to determine compatibility of the updated capabilities with computing solutions supported by the chassis.
