  • Publication number: 20140330854
Abstract: Technologies are disclosed for enabling users to comprehensively determine their exposures to media and to receive services based thereon. For example, an application can be executed on a computing device associated with a user. The application can continuously monitor audio data that the computing device is exposed to and can generate digital signatures thereof. The digital signatures can be transmitted to a server that comprises a database of reference digital signatures and circuitry configured to compare and match the received digital signatures and the reference digital signatures. When a match is found, the server retrieves information associated with the matched reference digital signature and returns, to the device, the retrieved information. The server can also concatenate matches associated with data received from a plurality of computing devices and provide the concatenated data to a third party, who in turn, returns services to the users based on the received data.

  • Patent number: 8769294
Abstract: Digital signature generation apparatus, comprising an envelope generator operable to generate an envelope representation, of only one polarity, of a sampled data segment, and operable for each of successive portions comprising a predetermined plurality of samples to provide a portion sum value as the sum the values of the samples in the portion, thereby to provide said envelope representation; a threshold value generator operable to determine a threshold value for each portion of the envelope representation; an event detector operable to detect, as an event, a transition of a portion sum value across the threshold value for the portion concerned; and a signature generator operable in response a detected event to generate a digital signature characteristic of the sampled data segment.

  • Patent number: 7833482
Abstract: A low power consumption catalytic gas sensor includes three beads. A trigger bead, which is smaller than either a sensing on a compensating bead can be monitored for the presence of a combustible gas. Where gas has been sensed, the sensing and compensating beads can be energized to establish a gas concentration.

  • Publication number: 20070199013
Abstract: Method and apparatus for generating a digital signature are provided. The method comprises:—polarizing a sampled data segment, for example a sampled audio segment, to produce a two-state signal having a bit sequence providing a binary representation of the sampled data segment, detecting an event in the signal, the event corresponding to occurrence of a predetermined pattern in the bit sequence of the signal, selecting, on the basis of a predetermined signature collection pattern specifying a plurality of offsets from the detected event, the values of the respective bits of the bit sequence at the bit positions specified by the offsets, and on the basis of those values providing a digital signature characteristic of the sampled data segment. Related systems are also provided.
