  • Publication number: 20030110720
Abstract: Panels (16) for use with access flooring (10) having a thick, resilient pad (20) bonded directly to and covering the entire surface of the panel (16). The pad (20) acts like the backing layer of a conventional floor treatment by absorbing impact and attenuation sound. A reinforced face cloth module (22) having only a face layer (24) and a stabilizing layer (26) is used to cover the pad (20) to protect the pad from wear and to provide an attractive floor treatment. The reinforced face cloth module (22) can be detachable or bonded directly to the pad. Alternatively, hook and loop fasteners can affix the pad to the face cloth module.

  • Patent number: 6526704
Abstract: Raised access flooring utilizing panels having a thick, resilient pad bonded directly to and covering the entire surface of the panel. The pad acts like the backing layer of a conventional floor treatment by absorbing impact and attenuation sound. A reinforced face cloth module having only a face layer and a stabilizing layer covers the pad to protect the pad from wear and to provide an attractive floor treatment. The reinforced face cloth module can be detachable or bonded directly to the pad. Alternatively, hook and loop fasteners can removably affix the pad to the face cloth module.

  • Patent number: 5916318
Abstract: A machine for simultaneously forming helical threads or fins on the exterior of first, second and third elongated cylindrical workpieces, the machine having first, second and third arbor blocks arranged in a common plane and spaced about a center point in the plane, having first, second and third thread or fin forming discs rotatably affixed respectfully to the first, second and third arbor blocks, and having first, second and third guides longitudinally displaceably and rotationally receiving respectively the first, second and third workpieces so that the first workpiece is guided by the first guide between the first and second discs, the second workpiece is guided by the second guide between the second and third discs and the third workpiece is guided by the third guide between the first and third discs, rotary energy being coupled to at least one of the discs. In an alternate embodiment four elongated cylindrical members are provided with threads or fins.

  • Patent number: 5114273
Abstract: A protective device installed to or around an offshore drilling platform for oil or gas and the device when in operation to encircle or enclose the platform with a floating containment device and attached oil containment curtain hanging from the device to the ocean floor. The pollution containment device to be submerged normally and activated to the surface when needed. This device will entrap offshore platform pollutants in a short amount of time with a minimum amount of effort and will maintain a clean environment. Other methods of offshore platform pollution containment devices are shown, including permanent non-moving oil pollution containment barriers and activated barriers that operate internally and externally of the oil platform to form an all encompassing barrier from the ocean floor to above the water surface to hold an oil spill to the platform area. Offshore drilling can be environmentally safe.

  • Patent number: 5003690
Abstract: A finning and thread rolling machine capable of producing an integral finned tube, an extended finned tube or a wrap-on finned tube, whichever is desired, the tubing to be used for extended surface heat transfer. Types of tubes produced are integral low finned tube, bi-metal fin tube with extruded high finned tube on the outer portion, and extruded integral/high finned tube and spiral strip helical wrap-on finned tube. The apparatus also provides a two and three die thread rolling machine for thru-feed threading and form rolling.

  • Patent number: 4966165
Abstract: A unisex condom to be worn as an underpant type garment with pocket or shaft type depressions or tubular extensions in the lower front and lower rear. During use the tubular extensions can be inserted inside the lower body cavities, vagina and anus or may be reversed or turned inside out for placement as a covering or exterior liner for a penis. This total covering of body parts will more fully protect the user from contacting or spreading disease as the result of sexual activities.

  • Patent number: 4367883
Abstract: A device that allows support at an angle on a bicycle, motorcycle, skateboard or roller skates to enable the rider to perform a wheelie. Contact is on more than one point, namely the rear wheel and the wheelie support which offers stability. The wheelie support comprises a structural member pivotally connected to a cycle frame and extending forwardly of the rear wheel. A wheel or wheels are connected to the free end of the structural member, and operator controllable structure is provided to bring the wheel or wheels into engagement with the ground when the front wheel is raised off the ground.

  • Patent number: 4010302
Abstract: An improved carpet tile for commercial, industrial or home use is disclosed. The carpet tile includes a tufted carpet facing portion including a stiffening and stabilizing layer (e.g., a primary backing layer and a glass fiber layer) in which the tufted carpet portion is embedded. The backing portion also includes a stiffening and stabilizing layer (e.g., glass fiber layer). Interposed between the facing and backing portions is a resilient thermoplastic material (e.g., polyvinyl chloride). The resulting unitary carpet tile shows surprising dimensional stability, stiffness and floor hugging properties even during periods of concentrated stress.

  • Patent number: 4010301
Abstract: An improved carpet tile for commercial, industrial or home use is disclosed. The carpet tile includes a carpet pile yarn facing portion including a stiffening and stabilizing layer (e.g., glass fiber layer). The backing portion also includes a stiffening and stabilizing layer (e.g., glass fiber layer). Interposed between the facing and backing portions is a stabilizing layer of a mixture of from about 70 to about 90 weight percent non-woven glass fibers and from about 30 to about 10 weight percent of a polyester. The resulting unitary carpet tile shows surprising dimensional stability, stiffness and floor hugging properties even during periods of concentrated stress, and passes rigorous flame retardancy and smoke emission tests.

  • Patent number: 3967406
Abstract: A fish lure that comprises a flexible molded product in the contour and coloring of a small fish, such as a minnow. There are no fixed attachments to the lure. Means are provided inside the molded product to provide tensile strength to the lure, so that hooks or other attachments can be inserted directly through the body of the lure and through holes within the internal strengthening material, so as to provide the necessary tensile strength to the object while in use. Internal strengthening means can comprise a thin sheet of metal or plastic with prepared openings therein. Another form of internal strengthening is to use a plurality of grommets which are tied together with wire inside of the molded products. A third embodiment uses a sheet of wire gauze cut to the shape of the lure and molded inside the lure.
