Abstract: A golf club tracking system for tracking the removal and replacement of golf clubs relative to a golf bag by a golfer includes: one or more golf club tags associated with one or more of the golf clubs; a golfer tag associated with the golfer; a base detector associated with the golf bag including processor in electronic communication with an antenna for detecting proximity of the one or more golf club tags and the golfer tag with the base detector. When the golfer tag is within a desired proximity of the base detector, the one or more golf club tags are inventoried to determine a number of golf club tags in proximity to the base detector. When fewer than all of the one or more golf club tags are determined to be within proximity to the base detector, the base detector generates an alert.
