Abstract: A control unit for a liquid heating appliance including a leaf spring, which includes a fixed end and a moveable portion that is movable relative to the fixed end between a closed position and an open position is provided. The leaf spring includes a kink between the fixed end and the moveable portion. A moveable electrical contact is mounted on the moveable portion and mates with a corresponding fixed electrical contact in an electrical power supply circuit when the leaf spring is in the closed position. The control unit also includes a thermally sensitive actuator, operable at a predetermined temperature to move the leaf spring to the open position to separate the moveable contact from the fixed contact.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved anodizing process that by modifying the reagents used in a sealing step of the anodizing process may be used to provide for improved anti-corrosion properties of the finished anodized part.
