  • Patent number: 8023928
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring an analog data signal is provided that includes an analog data compression subsystem. The analog data compression subsystem includes a frequency bandpass filter, a rectifier, and an integrator such as a leaky integrator or one that is reset after being sampled. An analog data signal is bandpass filtered by the frequency bandpass filter, rectified, and integrated in the analog domain. The output of the integrator is converted into a digital data value by an analog-to-digital converter circuit that samples the integrator at a desired sample rate or duty cycle. The output of the integrator can trigger an event based upon established criteria. Multiple analog data compression subsystems can be used in parallel to monitor multiple frequency bands-of-interest.

  • Patent number: 4417738
Abstract: A retractable caster assembly for permanent attachment to a framework. The caster assembly, when retracted, allows the framework to rest on a surface in a first stable position and when extended, the assembly raises the framework above the surface in a second stable position. The caster assembly comprises a caster, a caster carrying structure, a structure for pivotably mounting the caster carrying structure to the framework and a lever pivotably mounted to the framework for engagement with the caster carrying structure to lower the caster into engagement with the surface in one stable position and raise the center so the lower periphery of the caster is above the lower surface of the framework in another stable position of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4095658
Abstract: A fluid collection, dispensing and measurement device for use in connection with a blood container, for example, and flexible tubing leading thereto. A hollow balance bar, with mobile spherical weights disposed therein is provided and rapid, forceful cut off of the blood flow through the flexible tubing is achieved when the moment created by the filling blood container, accentuated by the motion of the spherical weights, overcomes the moment produced by a preset adjustable counter weight. An adjustable clamping apparatus allows the fluid collection device to be affixed to a stationary object and subsequently adjusted to a level plane to insure accuracy of measurement. A simple modification of the device allows it to be used as a fluid dispensing device. A full container of fluid can be hung on the modified device and a measured quantity of fluid can be dispensed with cut off being achieved as described above.
