    Abstract: A horizontal decanter centrifuge has a centrifuge bowl with a solids discharge opening, a sleeve having to an interior of the centrifuge bowl and an opposite end opening at an exterior of the centrifuge bowl, and a retainer affixed to the exterior of the centrifuge bowl. The retainer has the sleeve extending therethrough. The retainer serves to removably secure the sleeve in a fixed position with respect to the centrifuge bowl. The sleeve has an interior wall formed of a carbide material.
