  • Patent number: 5397005
Abstract: A system for vertically storing and displaying elongated articles such as steel rods or the like. A stationary base rotatably supports a tall cylindrical storage rack. A platform with a peripheral rim holds the bottom ends of articles while the top ends are retained by upper braces. The braces include a centered spacer which creates a relief region above it. The articles are removed by lifting to clear the bottom rim and tilted so that the top ends swing into the relief region. The rack is divided into pie-shaped product homes by spokes extending from the spacers. The system may be a stand-alone unit with more than one rack, or a single rack coupled at the top to a support structure. The system also includes outer surfaces on which to display general and specific product information and may also include receptacles for fasteners to be used with the elongated articles.
