  • Publication number: 20260036378
Abstract: A thermal ground plane is disclosed that includes one or more flattened or flattened and deformed mesh disposed within a cavity formed between a top casing and bottom casing. The flattened and deformed mesh, for example, may be created by compressing or flattening mesh such that the pores in the mesh are at least three times smaller than the pores in the mesh prior to flattening. Abstract: A sealing system for establishing real time sealing between two flange members is provided. The sealing system includes a seal assembly disposed between the flange members. The seal assembly includes an o-ring seal component held between an outer seal component and an inner seal component. A clamp body including a first clamp arm and a second clamp arm receive the flange members and the seal assembly positioned between the flange members. A coupling device of the sealing system is used to apply torque to clamp arms to draw them each other resulting biasing the flange member toward each other to establish sealing. Each of the clamp arms includes at least one window opening to expose a portion of outer seal component that includes an indicator configured for displaying an identification feature of the o-ring seal component of the sealing assembly.

  • Publication number: 20090066488
Abstract: A security system detects intrusive activities in and around a vehicle and transmits warnings specifically describing the intrusions through a wireless telephone network to the owner's designated contacts. In response to the intrusion warnings, the vehicle owner or designees can establish remote wireless communication with the security system and obtain further information on the intrusion or initiate counter-measures to thwart an incipient theft.

  • Publication number: 20080034452
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for increasing resistance of monocot plants against abiotic stress which comprises a step of transforming monocot plants with a recombinant plasmid containing a fused gene (TPSP) of trehalose-6-phosphate synthetase (TPS) gene and trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase (TPP) gene to express the TPSP gene while maintaining normal growth and development characteristics. The present invention can increase the resistance of monocot plants against various stresses so that it can greatly contribute to the improvement of production and quality of valuable agricultural crops. The present invention also relates to a transgenic monocot plant, plant cell, or protoplast transformed with a nucleic acid encoding an enzyme for trehalose biosynthesis, under control of an inducible promoter, that increases tolerance to low temperature, salt, and water stress.

  • Patent number: 6429357
Abstract: The current invention provides regulatory regions from the rice actin 2 gene. In particular, the current invention provides the rice actin 2 promoter and actin 2 intron. Compositions comprising these sequences are described, as well as transformation constructs derived therefrom. Further provided are methods for the expression of transgenes in plants comprising the use of these sequences. The methods of the invention include the direct creation of transgenic plants with the rice actin 2 intron and/or promoter directly by genetic transformation, as well as by plant breeding methods. The actin 2 sequences of the invention represent a valuable new tool for the creation of transgenic plants, preferably having one or more added beneficial characteristics.
