Patent number: 10172213Abstract: A programmable lighting control system integrates time-based, sensor-based, and manual control of lighting and other loads. The system includes one or more groups of controlled lighting areas, which may be, e.g., floors of a building. Each group may have one or more lighting zones, which may be, e.g., individual rooms or offices on a building floor. Each lighting zone includes occupancy and/or daylight sensors that may be wirelessly coupled to a gateway of the group. Each gateway is coupled to a network, such as, e.g., a local area network (LAN). Control software, residing on a computer (e.g., a personal computer or a server) coupled to the network and accessible via the network, remotely communicates with and controls the lighting zones either individually, groupwise, or globally. Each lighting zone can also be locally controlled at the gateway and can function independently of the control software and the gateway.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2015Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: ABL IP HOLDING, LLCInventors: Brian P. Platner, William J. Fassbender, Ryan A. Zaveruha, Frank J. Ramirez, Philip S. Gross, Raymond A. Frigon

Patent number: 4650989Abstract: An alignment apparatus for a photoelectric transmitter or receiver having an emitter or detector at the focal point of a focusing lens or mirror includes a plane mirror located between the emitter or detector and the focusing device. The mirror is provided with an aperture behind which the emitter or detector is located. A center line indicating sight is provided between the focusing device and the emitter or detector. By observing the plane mirror from an appropriate angle the transmitter or receiver can be aligned with its counterpart transmitter or receiver.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1985Date of Patent: March 17, 1987Assignee: Cerberus AGInventor: Raymond A. Patent number: 4516115Abstract: The present invention provides an improved intrusion detection system of the type in which interruption of a beam of infrared energy transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver generates an alarm signal. The receiver includes a light source which remains unlighted when the transmitter and receiver are properly aligned but will be continuously lighted if either the beam is interrupted or the receiver and transmitter are not aligned. In one aspect of the invention, flasher circuitry in the receiver causes the light source to flash when the transmitted beam is only marginally aligned with the receiver. In another aspect of the invention, a lens in the receiver for focusing infrared radiation on a photodetector is movably mounted and accessible from the outside of the receiver to properly align the transmitted beam with the receiver without dismounting the receiver or requiring the use of any special alignment tools.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1982Date of Patent: May 7, 1985Assignee: Cerberus AGInventors: Raymond A.
