  • Publication number: 20240126703
Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a memory management unit (MMU) comprising a translation lookaside buffer (TLB) and a configuration register, a request from a processor core to directly modify an entry in the TLB. The method also includes, responsive to the configuration register having a first value, operating the MMU in a software-managed mode by modifying the entry in the TLB according to the request. The method further includes, responsive to the configuration register having a second value, operating the MMU in a hardware-managed mode by denying the request.

  • Patent number: 11960892
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system includes a memory and a processor core. The processor core includes functional units and an instruction decode unit configured to determine whether an execute packet of instructions received by the processing core includes a first instruction that is designated for execution by a first functional unit of the functional units and a second instruction that is a condition code extension instruction that includes a plurality of sets of condition code bits, wherein each set of condition code bits corresponds to a different one of the functional units, and wherein the sets of condition code bits include a first set of condition code bits that corresponds to the first functional unit. When the execute packet includes the first and second instructions, the first functional unit is configured to execute the first instruction conditionally based upon the first set of condition code bits in the second instruction.

  • Patent number: 11922166
Abstract: A Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) digital signal processor particularly adapted for single instruction multiple data (SIMD) operation on various operand widths and data sizes. A vector compare instruction compares first and second operands and stores compare bits. A companion vector conditional instruction performs conditional operations based upon the state of a corresponding predicate data register bit. A predicate unit performs data processing operations on data in at least one predicate data register including unary operations and binary operations. The predicate unit may also transfer data between a general data register file and the predicate data register file.

  • Publication number: 20170197461
Abstract: Water drain holes, located through the sidewalls of hollow rims for vehicle wheels not sealed from water ingress, is described herein to provide an egress for accumulated water. The water drain holes in a wheel rim can be for any type of vehicle utilizing a hollow rim design for wheels when not sealed from water ingress. Without drain holes, accumulated water inside a hollow rim adds significant weight, which produces undesirable effects, such as resistance to the vehicle driver input to accelerate, steer, and otherwise control the vehicle, such as but not limited to a bicycle. Also, accumulated water inside a hollow rim enables increased galvanic current conductivity, producing corrosion.

  • Publication number: 20170080749
Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim design with high safety margin and optimized strength-to-weight is described. The rim provides a tire bead supporting platform which defines a circumferential bead seat with minimum bead seat diameter equal to the standard tire bead diameter defined for a particular size of tire. Each tire bead seat defined along the rim circumference is comprised by a pair of circumferential ridges. The circumferential ridges comprise the external sidewalls of the rim and do not include tire bead hook features, and are of optimized sidewall thickness to add load strength and lateral stiffness, and resist crushing from impact. The interior ridges are increased diameter towards the medial plane of the rim to a value greater than the specified tire bead diameter. Given this geometry, the left lateral and right lateral of each tire bead is safely constrained within the defined bead seats under a wide variety of uses.

  • Patent number: 9264880
Abstract: An authentication server and a method of enabling a user of a communications capable device to make a payment via a mobile operator billing system are described. The authentication server determines a user identifier string for sending to a communications capable device according to a probability of successful entry by a user. The user identifier string is linked to the content item data and the string sent to the communications capable device. The user responds, via a mobile network, by sending a short message service (SMS) based user response. The response is compared to previously transmitted user identifier messages, and billable user identity data appended to the SMS by the mobile network can be used to associate the transaction in process with billable identity data derived from the carrier data to enable a user's mobile phone account to be billed for the purchase.

  • Publication number: 20150366321
Abstract: The present invention relates to three stick product containers. One has a removable top cap with a crown and a hollow base, such that the top cap can be removed and inserted into the hollow base. The top cap has associated with it a thumb lever push ring to prevent the stick from rolling when laid horizontal. The other container is more suitable, for example, for a lip balm that has a top cap with a living hinge that can be flipped all the way back, inserted into a plug insert hole in the base of the cap, and then the cap is used to support the container in an at rest position to prevent it from rolling.
