  • Patent number: 6673737
Abstract: A novel supported ionic liquid moiety which may further comprise immobilized ionic fluids and catalytic material is described. A method for making the composition is also described.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 3, 2001
Date of Patent: January 6, 2004
Assignee: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company
Inventors: Christian Peter Mehnert, Raymond Arnold Cook
  • Patent number: 6527573
Abstract: A slide contact electrical connector preferably for an oxygen sensor is assembled in such a way as to protect the precious metal surface of multiple contact pads of an edge card 28. The edge card 28 is encased by a ceramic capsule 30. Trailing portions 54 of terminals 20 are laterally inserted into longitudinally extending channels 52 of a core 22 being radially and axially locked in place. The terminals 20 extend forward from the core 22 and are positioned about the trailing end 42 of the edge card 28 from a longitudinal direction. A collar 26 compresses the terminals 20 against the edge card 28 from a lateral direction thereby making the electrical contact. A shield 18 encircles the capsule 30, collar 26, terminals 20 and core 22 thereby protecting the electrical connection integrity. A seal 16 is disposed at a trailing end of the shield 18 penetrated by a plurality of insulated electrical wires 14.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 2001
Date of Patent: March 4, 2003
    Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: William L. Stein, Sr., Mark D. McCall, Raymond Arnold Maga, Daniel R Rester

  • Patent number: 6062805
Abstract: A vehicular wheelchair step lift for persons who are physically challenged or otherwise have limited mobility. The lift includes a platform structure which is mounted to an elevator frame which is then mounted to an elevator housing for vertical movements of the platform structure. The platform structure includes a plurality of individual plates which are rotatably connected at their transverse adjacent edges for manually folding and unfolding the platform, wherein the individual plates are manually folded from an outermost individual plate against an adjacent individual plate to an innermost individual plate for stowing the platform structure into a step position of the vehicle and manually unfolded inversely such that the individual plates are substantially horizontal and in fully coplanar alignment to each other for use in an entry level position.

  • Patent number: 5819296
Abstract: Large numbers of data files are moved between computer systems using an export process and an import process. To begin, a user specifies files to export from a first computer system. A volume location for each of the specified files is identified within the first computer system. File handles corresponding to the specified files are stored to a directory volume. Next, a user physically removes all of the identified volumes and the directory volume from the first computer system and installs them in the second computer system. The import process begins when a user for a second computer system loads the volumes and the directory volume into the second computer system. The imported files are then merged with existing files on the second computer system.

  • Patent number: 4090356
Abstract: A reading pacer and reading speed indicator including a transparent tube having a viscous fluid therein and a pace-indicating member of differing density from that of the fluid, such as a steel ball, for association with the lateral edge of reading matter in order to be visible in the peripheral vision of a reader and to pace or indicate a reading rate in accordance with the slope or angle thereof with respect to the vertical. A curved section of the tube carries both indicia and an indicator member for preselecting or determining the slope of the pacer tube.Preferably, the pacer unit includes means for attaching or mounting the unit directly upon the surface of the page and includes means for quickly re-setting the pace-indicating member into association with the first portion of the reading matter. The pacer unit may be invertible for reset or may include mobile means such as a magnet for re-setting a ferrous pace-indicating member.
