    Abstract: One or more aftertreatment bricks are axially inserted through an opening in the first end of a tubular sleeve of an aftertreatment system. The aftertreatment brick includes a substrate matrix and a mantle disposed around the substrate matrix. The mantle further includes a lip arranged to extend through the opening of the sleeve. One or more channel pockets are secured proximate to the opening of the sleeve and oriented radially outward with respect to the sleeve axis. To retain the aftertreatment brick in the sleeve, a clamping assembly is used that includes a hook, a fastener, and a capture nut. The capture nut is installed and accommodated in the channel pockets. The hook engages the protruding lip of the aftertreatment brick and the fastener secures the hook to the capture nut received in the channel pocket.

    Abstract: An aftertreatment brick can be installed in a brick compartment of an aftertreatment module with a releasable securing assembly. The releasable securing assembly includes a first bracket, a second bracket, and a band clamp. The first bracket is installed in the brick compartment proximate a port. The aftertreatment brick is placed on the first bracket adjacent the port and the second bracket is placed about the aftertreatment brick above the first bracket. The band clamp is slid over the first and second brackets and tightened to secure the brackets about the brick.

The aftertreatment module may have a first chamber with an inlet, and at least one catalyst substrate disposed in the first chamber in a flow path through the inlet and having a flow direction from an inlet face to an outlet face in general alignment with the flow path. The aftertreatment module may also have a second chamber with at least one outlet in general alignment with the flow direction through the inlet. The aftertreatment module may further have at least one noise attenuation passage fluidly connecting the first chamber with the second chamber. The at least one noise attenuation passage may be oriented generally orthogonal to the inlet and the at least one outlet and be located between the inlet and the outlet face of the at least one catalyst substrate.

The reductant dosing system also has a purging arrangement configured to direct purge fluid to at least one of the dosing arrangement and the supply passage, and a valve configured to allow reductant to pass from the tank to the supply passage and to inhibit purge fluid from entering the tank.
