  • Publication number: 20240108076
Abstract: Smoking articles, and methods for forming such smoking articles, such as an electronic smoking article, are provided. An exemplary smoking article comprises a control body portion having a control body engagement end, and having a first control component therein. A cartridge body portion includes a cartridge body engagement end configured to removably engage the control body engagement end of the control body portion. The cartridge body portion further includes a consumable arrangement comprising at least an aerosol precursor composition and at least one heating element operably engaged therewith, and a second control component. At least the consumable arrangement is configured to be in communication with the first control component upon engagement between the cartridge body and control body portions.

  • Publication number: 20050190798
Abstract: The present invention provides a radio frequency (“RF”) activation system with improved operating capability and ease of installation. Improved responsiveness is provided by the receiver which determines the frame timing of incoming signals and calculates the estimated time of arrival for ensuing frames thus minimizing loss of frame synchronization problems. In one embodiment, this is accomplished by determining the time span of the frame start sequence and using this to determine the frame timing of an incoming RF signal. The receiver also makes corrections for timing errors between the receiver and transmitter by re-synchronizing the receiver with the incoming RF signal.

  • Patent number: 5994654
Abstract: A rotary push-type stepper switch can include a printed circuit board that acts as a support mechanism for tubular electrical connectors extending beyond the edge of the board through cut-outs in the perimeter wall of a switch housing. Each tubular connector has an upstanding tab extending through the circuit board, so that the tubular connector has good surface area support on the board lower surface. Each tubular connector has two cantilever spring leaf elements adapted to grip the surfaces of a spade terminal inserted into the respective connector.
