Abstract: Audio stems and video segments are downloaded and selectively included (e.g., through software) in a multimedia presentation. In some embodiments, a user may select lyric tracks for download and inclusion with the multimedia presentation. The video segments and lyrics tracks are synchronized with the audio stems within the multimedia presentation. Embodied services may include selectable and downloadable click tracks that having timing data that corresponds to other downloaded components. In some embodiments, audio stems are selectable according to a musical key.

Abstract: A smart shelf system is disclosed. Objects are placed on a shelf that includes RFID tags. The objects prevent an RFID reader from reading certain RFID tags. The number of objects placed on the shelf may be determined by determining how many RFID tags are unreadable.

Abstract: A Space Elevator for transporting a payload from one point to another in outer space, includes a first structure, located at a first relatively fixed, non-zero orbital distance from the surface of the earth, for receiving payloads, a second structure, located at a second relatively fixed orbital distance from the surface of the earth, for receiving payloads, where the second distance is greater than the first distance, a third structure located near the center of gravity of the combined apparatus providing a platform for storing and/or processing payloads, and a payload transporting apparatus disposed between and interconnecting the first and third and second and third structural means.

Abstract: A process for resolution of a mixture of dihydroxydihydroindene enantiomers comprising treating the mixture of enantiomers with a Pseudomonas putida species microorganism.Resolved dihydroxydihydroindenes are valuable intermediates for the synthesis of biologically active compounds such as pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.

Abstract: A lighted hand mirror includes a case member having a battery, electric lights and a switch therein. Pivotally connected to the case member is a cover member of complementary peripheral configuration which carries a mirror thereon and light diffusing means adjacent thereto which overlies the electric lights when the cover is in place over the case member. A cam carried by the hinge between the case and cover members engages the switch to turn the same on or off. A tab extends from the cam to allow it to be manually and selectively pivoted between the on and off positions.

Abstract: A motor driven cup member is mounted on a support structure for rotation about a vertical axis. The support structure also houses and supports the motor and the power supply for the motor. The cup is divided into two sections, the upper section including a brush element lining the interior wall thereof and the lower section being adapted to contain a supply of nail polish remover solution. An electric switch supported by the support structure is operated with one hand while the fingers of the other hand are inserted, one at a time, into the cup to remove the nail polish from the nails thereof. A cover adapted to enclose the support structure includes a seal which seals against the top of the cup thereby preventing evaporation of the solution.

Abstract: A lighted compact has a bottom case member into which are mounted standard sized compact powders. A cover member and an intermediate member both of which have a configuration complementary to the bottom case member are hinged to the bottom case member. Mounted within the inside of the cover member is a battery, a switch and a pair of electric lights. The intermediate member, which covers the battery, lights and switch, includes a mirror and light diffusers. The hinge of the bottom case member includes a cam surface which is adapted to engage the switch of the cover member so that the lights are turned on when the compact is opened and are turned off when the compact is closed.
