  • Patent number: 5699318
Abstract: A video display of the bottom of a body of water uses three types of data collected from a side looking sonar system, and includes: imagery composed of highlights and shadows from the topography of the bottom; backscattering signal strength proportional to the marine bottom composition, i.e. sand, mud, gravel; and contour lines for water depth. A black and white, gray scale image of the bottom is generated, and a color overlay screen of the composition of the bottom is integrated with the black and white image, with the colors being coded to indicate composition. The water depth is also plotted in contour lines on the display.

  • Patent number: 4280419
Abstract: A pneumatic seed planter utilizing air pressure to dispense the seeds in a central hopper to a plurality of laterally spaced seed planting assemblies. Mounted on the planter is a system for dispensing granular chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides from a separate hopper to the rows planted by the planting assemblies. The system uses air pressure from the planter (rather than a mechanical drive) to convey the granular material out of the separate hopper to the planting assemblies. Air is directed upwardly through an opening in the bottom of the chemical hopper and into a material conveyor tube spaced from the opening. The granular chemical is drawn through the space and into the conveyor tube by the air stream. A plurality of delivery tubes is connected to the conveyor tube for directing the chemical to the respective plurality of planting assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4153956
Abstract: A toilet deodorizer device having a flow inducing and odor removing assembly arrangeable in the upper portion of a toilet tank for drawing air from the rim portion of a toilet bowl associated with the tank upwardly through a conventional overflow pipe provided in the tank for exhaust at the top of the tank. The flow inducing and odor removing assembly is supported in the upper portion of the toilet tank by a diaphragm constructed from a gas permeable material which permits the air being deodorized to pass through the diaphragm. Resting on the diaphragm is a fan and heater unit including a blower which draws the air through the toilet tank, and a heater disposed at the outlet of the blower for deodorizing the air by the application of extreme heat.

  • Patent number: 4091947
Abstract: A bale pickup and carrier structure mounted on the 3-point hitch of a tractor for picking up and carrying three or four cylindrical bales of substantial size and weight. The carrier consists of a transversely elongated frame having several pairs of bale supporting tines extending rearwardly for carrying several large bales in side-by-side relation. The carrier further includes a subassembly having a pair of bale-supporting tines extending forwardly from the frame outside of one of the rear wheels of the tractor. Accordingly, a bale can be carried alongside of the tractor in addition to the bales in the side-by-side row. The entire carrier is raised and lowered through conventional control of the 3-point hitch of the tractor. In addition, the subassembly is pivotable relative to the frame to a raised position wherein a bale thereon can be held clear of the ground during retrieval and unloading of the remaining bales.
