  • Patent number: 4008670
Abstract: A foldable sample display table having a square top and two substantially flat, similar, upright crossed frame sections whereon the top is placed. The top is removable and the frame sections are pivoted about the upright central axis of the frame table where they cross each other at right angles. For storage or shipment, these sections are folded against each other to a flat structure. Each frame section is formed of rods in an opposing, symmetrical arrangement as opposing wing portions below the table top, a common neck portion below the wings and opposing pedestal below the neck portions. Each rod includes a top portion of the wing which fits into a groove at the underside of the table top and these top portions of the rods hold the table top in place. Each wing includes a vertical arm depending from the underside of the table top near the edge to carry an array of display samples, such as rug samples, mounted on the arms as by hooks.

  • Patent number: 3973335
Abstract: An apparatus to demonstrate air flow through sheet material such as carpeting and padding to provide a qualitative, visual test of the permeability of the material. A transparent, closed container is connected with a vacuum pump to pull air thereinto from an opening at the bottom of the container which is traversed and closed by a sample of the sheet material to be tested. Thus, air flows into the container by passing through the sheet material. Lightweight objects within the container are agitated by air movement and the manner and intensity with which they are bounced and tossed within the container provides for a spectacular, qualitative demonstration of the permeability of the material. Also, a simple comparison of one material with another is possible with the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 3965583
Abstract: A carpet sample rack to carry and display rectangular carpet samples. The display can include pattern samples and smaller color samples. The color samples are one-half or one-third as wide as the pattern samples so that two or three color samples will occupy the same space as a pattern sample. The rack is, essentially, a rectangular, open frame having upright sides which are spaced apart to carry a pattern sample. A vertical array of spaced holes is provided in these sides to receive locking snaps which are fitted in corresponding holes at the edges of the pattern samples. Groups of the narrower color samples are secured to transverse straps which span the frame and are snap-locked onto the sides of the frame in the same manner as is the pattern sample. Thus, the samples may be carried upon the frame in a shingled or overlapping arrangement to permit all samples to be viewed simultaneously and the color variation of any one carpet pattern can be easily viewed with the pattern itself.
