  • Patent number: 11286762
Abstract: A water hydration system for disposing of the water content of production fluid generated by a hydrocarbon well. The production water is processed to remove particulate matter, and then to separate the water from crude oil. The water is heated and pressurized and passed through a nozzle to produce a spray which flashes into steam in a duct carrying fresh air. The water vapor hydrates the air that is forced through the duct by a high capacity fan which blows the hydrated air into the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 10513444
Abstract: A water hydration system for disposing of the water content of the production water recovered from a hydrocarbon well. An internal combustion engine is utilized to drive electrical generators, pumps, etc., to provide electrical and mechanical power to the equipment of the well site. The engine includes a cooling system through which preprocessed production water flows to elevate the temperature thereof. The heated water is then sprayed into hot air to hydrate the air before being released to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 10273167
Abstract: A nozzle for spraying a pressurized liquid. The nozzle is adapted for processing a pressurized liquid through an orifice of the nozzle, where the pressurized liquid forces a nozzle member away from a seat. The nozzle member is moved by the pressurized liquid against a counterforce produced by a gas pressure. Gas pressure operates against a plunger to produce a force acting on the nozzle member in opposition to the liquid pressure. A desired upstream pressure of the pressurized liquid is established when the forces across the movable nozzle member are balanced. A desired upstream pressure of the pressurized liquid can be changed by changing the pressure of the gas that forces the plunger against the movable nozzle member.

  • Patent number: 10125677
Abstract: A technique for mounting an engine to a frame so that it is coupled to a load, such as a generator, but the mounting apparatus allows the engine to be disconnected quickly and removed from the frame so that a replacement engine can be installed in the frame. A removable rear engine mount houses an engine pulley and a belt that connects the engine pulley to a generator pulley. During removal of the engine, the front and rear engine mounts are disconnected, and the engine assembly including the rear engine mount and the engine pulley and belt are lifted somewhat and then laterally removed from the generator which remains connected to the frame.

  • Patent number: 9358865
Abstract: A flywheel operated vehicle. The engine drives the flywheel using a differential axle, while also driving a pair of other differentials each of which is connected to a respective drive wheel. The rotation of half shafts of the pair of differentials are controlled to determine the extent of power transferred from the flywheel to the drive wheels during acceleration, and determines the power transferred from the drive wheels to the flywheel during deceleration of the vehicle. The flywheel can be tilted about a roll axis of the vehicle to counteract roll tendencies of the vehicle when turning a sharp corner.

  • Patent number: 8915453
Abstract: A self-cleaning nozzle assembly adapted for use in processing pressurized liquids, slurries, etc., which may carry with it particulate matter. A spacing between two nozzle members forms an orifice, and the size of the orifice is adjustable. The nozzle members are spring biased together to reduce the size of the nozzle orifice, but pressurized liquids processed by the nozzle counteract the spring bias force to increase the size of the nozzle orifice. When the force of the spring bias and the force of the pressurized liquid are at equilibrium, the size of the nozzle orifice is maintained. When adjusting the compression force of the spring on the nozzle members, the upstream pressure of the liquid can be adjusted accordingly. In flash evaporation systems, the nozzle can be employed to control the flash point of the liquid by controlling the pressure thereof.

  • Patent number: 8602320
Abstract: An expansion nozzle adapted for use in processing high pressure, high temperature liquids. A spring biases a nozzle head into contact with a nozzle seat, but the high pressure liquids processed by the nozzle move the nozzle head away from the nozzle seat to form an orifice therebetween. A motor rotates the nozzle head with respect to the nozzle seat during dynamic operation to grind particles lodged in the orifice. A threaded nut and a catch mechanism are effective to adjust the spring tension and thus the force of the upstream pressurized liquid needed to operate the nozzle. The nozzle can process liquids having gasses, slurries and high concentrations of particulate matter.

  • Patent number: 8372248
Abstract: A water purification system having an oil and vapor separation subsystem for removing many heavy duty and toxic contaminants from the water. The subsystem removes volatile vapors from the feed water, heats the feed water, and by imparting a swirling vortex action to the heated water, the oils are separated from the water. The water separated from the oil is pumped by a high pressure pump through a helical coil that is heated to a high temperature by the burner. The high temperature, hot water is then fed to an expansion nozzle in an expansion chamber to flash the hot water into steam. The steam is passed through a condenser which converts the steam to purified water.

  • Patent number: 7963459
Abstract: An expansion nozzle adapted for use in high pressure, high temperature conditions. The expansion nozzle uses spring compression to operate under constant pressure conditions to efficiently flash hot water into steam. A motor can be employed to automatically adjust the extent of compression of the spring during the flashing operation, to thereby adjust the pressure of the liquid applied to the nozzle. In addition, the expansion nozzle can be equipped with a mechanism to allow cleaning or lapping of the orifice surfaces without disassembly of the expansion nozzle assembly.
