  • Patent number: 4884980
Abstract: An insert molded multiple contact electrical connector comprising a molded insert of thermoplastic insulating material having a barrel shaped body which has a plurality of circumferentially spaced grooves and a plurality of cable grips. The cable grips are formed by semicircular grooves in parallel segments of a polygonal flange at one end of the barrel shaped body. A plurality of electrical contacts which are attached to a plurality of electric cables by core and insulation crimp wings are disposed in the grooves and the cable grips respectively to form a subassembly. An outer housing of thermoplastic insulating material is molded over the subassembly in a die which has a plurality of cable grip parts which cooperate with the respective cable grips of the molded insert to retain and seal around the electric cables individually and to space the electric cables from each other when the outer housing of thermoplastic insulating material is molded over the subassembly.

  • Patent number: 4243273
Abstract: A variable load valve device having a fulcrumed lever, the opposite sides of which are acted upon by respective piston stems of opposing piston assemblies subject to air spring pressure and brake cylinder pressure, respectively. Each piston assembly is independently and axially positionally adjustable relative to the lever to vary the effective differential forces which dictate the level at which brake cylinder pressure is cut off to limit the maximum desired brake cylinder pressure for any given air spring pressure. The desired position adjustments of the piston assemblies are made by adjusting screws engaging the respective piston assemblies which require no changes in spring size or piston dimensions.

  • Patent number: 4099742
Abstract: A mechanical or magnetic-actuated control valve device for so controlling pressure of fluid in an air spring for interposition between a sprung portion and an unsprung portion of a vehicle as to support the sprung portion at a substantially constant preselected height relative to the unsprung portion irrespective of the load carried by the sprung portion.A supply valve and a release valve are operated by either mechanical or electro-magnetic actuators by a cam to supply fluid under pressure to or release fluid under pressure from the air spring accordingly as the cam is rocked in one direction or in an opposite direction from a neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4077617
Abstract: A vehicle leveling valve device for adjusting air spring pressure according to vehicle load and including a hydraulic dampening arrangement wherein one or the other of an air pressure supply or an exhaust valve connected to the air springs is actuated, according to the change in vehicle load, by one of a pair of respective leaf springs when deflected by a cam, in turn, operable responsively to variation in vehicle load and height. Deflection of each leaf spring is resisted by respective hydraulic pistons which are arranged to yield to a normal rate of vehicle load change and therefore permit operation of either the supply or exhaust, but resist any momentary change of vehicle height, such as caused by a jounce, and therefore restrain deflection of the leaf springs and preclude any untimely operation of the valve device.
