    Abstract: An apparatus for driving poles, rods and other objects into the earth, or into sand so that they may be self-sustaining in which the rod or pole is embraced by a strong strap, the ends of which extend outwardly from around the pole or rod, to receive between them a brace, the top of which is provided with a transverse flange defining a pedal; a bolt passed through the ends of the strap and the brace serves to rigidly secure the brace to a pole or rod; there are off set portions on the edges of the strap at each end thereof which define a support for a pedal.
