  • Patent number: 11079124
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a whole-house humidifier system including one or more evaporative, unpowered, vertical-air humidifiers. Each humidifier includes a plurality of element sleeves suspended by flat support panels above a built-in water reservoir. The bottom tabs of the reservoir are inserted into the floor register opening for location. The system also includes a cover with windows along a top edge that control the direction of air exiting the system. The position of the cover is controlled by its fit to the outside edges of the water reservoir. A dedicated water supply feeds water through a float valve to control the water level in the reservoir. The element sleeves can easily be cleaned but require no external air duct since air flows up through the center of the humidifier.

  • Patent number: 10966417
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter relates to a fishing reel attached to a fishing rod. The disclosed reel has no spool, but instead includes a canister that stores fishing line in an orderly free state via a crank attached to pinch rollers. The fishing line moves to storage by passing through the pinch rollers into the canister. The line entering storage curls to left or right dependent only on line memory, and stacks against the outer walls and to the rear in an orderly fashion. Further, the line is also capable of being extracted from the canister when the pinch rollers are opened. For example, the inertia of a fishing lure thrown by a fishing rod extracts free line from the canister at the same velocity as the moving lure. As a result, synchronization of the lure and fishing line occurs regardless of wind conditions. The problem of line backlash is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 9476604
Abstract: The present invention relates to an unpowered room humidifier utilizing mechanically blowing air from a register, wherein water is wicked into a plurality of absorbent cloths draped over a plurality of beams and results in increased humidity as the air leaves the humidifier.

  • Patent number: 4345846
Abstract: An impact printer is provided with a print member which comprises a first helical element having a first font of type characters arranged around its periphery; this first helical element is rotatably mounted so as to be linearily movable along an axis adjacent to a print medium. The print member further includes a second helical element having a second font of type characters arranged around its periphery, and this second helical element is rotatably mounted along the same axis in a position interspaced with the first helical element so as to be rotatable and linearily movable along the axis independent of the first helical element. The print member further includes means for rotating the first and second helical elements.

  • Patent number: 4289983
Abstract: The present disclosure involves a rotational encoder having a plurality of indicia at fixed positions with respect to each other, means for rotating said indicia about an axis and means for sensing the indicia positioned along the path of rotation of said indicia. In the present apparatus, each of a plurality of said indicia has a first edge radial to said axis and traversing the path of rotation and a second edge nonradial to the axis also traversing the path of rotation and the apparatus further includes means for moving the sensing means so that the position of the sensing means may be adjusted with respect to the first edges which are the leading edges when said indicia are rotated in one direction and to the second edges which are the leading edges when the indicia are rotated in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4264224
Abstract: In order to maintain constant tension on a relatively long expanse of ribbon stretched along the carrier path in impact printer apparatus having off-the-carrier ribbon drive and feed, apparatus is provided for driving a first and a second reel in forward and reverse directions, each reel being adapted to support a portion of an inventory of a ribbon web running along said carrier path from one of said reels to the other at a constant speed differential between the portion of the web being taken up on one of the reels and the portion of the web being supplied on the other of said reels irrespective of the drive direction which comprises a first inelastic drive belt for peripherally non-slip driving the web portion on the first reel and a second inelastic drive belt for peripherally non-slip driving the web portion on the second reel.
