  • Patent number: 6394286
Abstract: A display rack for displaying a plurality of rugs includes a plurality of generally upright elongate support posts connected side by side by a support frame with each post having mounted thereon for sliding movement therealong a respective one of a plurality of rug support assemblies. Each support post has a cable and winch inside the respective post for driving sliding movement of the respective rug support assembly between a lowered loading position and a raised display position with a motor mounted permanently on the post or on the mounting assembly and a manually operable switch for operating the motor. Each rug support assembly includes a front plate member in front of the post and a plurality of pivotal arms side by side across the plate member. A divider post is provided between each support post and the next upright at a position in front of the support posts so as to engage rug support arms to prevent side to side movement of the arms sufficient to cause interference therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6138545
Abstract: The cutting mechanism includes a cutter block mounting a knife blade arranged for movement along a slot in a cutting table. The cutter block is driven by a cable and a first drive pulley. The cable extends under and around the first drive pulley and a second pulley, with the first end of the cable fixed to a second end of the cutter block, and the second end of the cable fixed to a first end of the cutter block. The cable and the first and second pulleys are arranged such that when the cutter block lies between the first end of the slot in the table and a center of first drive pulley the first and second ends of the cable are drawn taut thereby stopping movement of the cutter block along the slot towards the first end, and such that when the cutter block lies between the second end of the slot in the table and a center of the second pulley the first and second ends of the cable are likewise drawn taut stopping movement of the cutter block along the slot towards the second end.

  • Patent number: 6119880
Abstract: The shelf carousel comprises an upright support frame, guide tracks arranged on the support frame, shelves arranged for movement along the guide tracks, a shelf stabilizer track fixed adjacent the top end of the guide tracks, a shelf stabilizing member fixed to the shelf, and drive chains connected to the shelves for providing movement along the guide tracks. The guide track includes an upper track portion and a lower track portion. The lower track portion is wider than an upper track portion and lies out of line of the upper track portion. Shelves moving on the lower track portion move out of line with each other and towards the user as the shelves pass the user. The stabilizing track and shelf stabilizing member help reduce tipping or swinging of the shelves as the shelves move through the turn at the top of the guide track.

  • Patent number: 6092450
Abstract: The rotary cutting blade is mounted on a cutting machine which dispenses and cuts sheet material. The cutting machine includes a frame for supporting a cutting table top and a dispenser for supporting a roll of floor covering material. The rotary disk shaped cutting blade is mounted on a support block the frame below the table top for movement along a slot in the cutting table. A cable or chain driven rotary drive drives the block back and forth and at the same time provides the rotary motion to the cutting disk in a direction such that a leading edge of the disk moves upwardly relative to the floor covering material as it cuts. The chain passes over a sprocket on the block which carries a clutch so that the clutch slips when the block reaches one end of the slot and allows the chain to continue driving the rotary blade. A rotary sharpening disk is mounted at one end of the slot and is driven by the chain so as to rotate against the blade in a sharpening action while the block remains stationary.

  • Patent number: 5961064
Abstract: The apparatus for longitudinally slitting sheet material comprises a supply assembly for supplying for unrolling a roll of the sheet material, a table surface for receiving the sheet, a re-rolling cradle for receiving a cut portion of the sheet and driven to roll the cut portion into a roll and a slitting assembly for slitting the sheet in a longitudinal direction at least at one position across its width. The slitting assembly comprising an elongate support housing extending across the table transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sheet, at least one slitting knife member mounted on the housing for slitting the sheet, the knife member being movable along the housing for adjustment of the position of the knife member across the sheet so as to vary a width of the portion to be cut. The knife member includes a blade support carried on the housing for sliding movement and an elongate drive shaft extending across the table which is driven at one end.

  • Patent number: 5944279
Abstract: The apparatus for cutting sheet material includes a table in which the sheet material is rolled onto by a unrolling cradle. A re-rolling cradle at a respective side of the table rolls the cut material. An arrangement on the cradles ensures an even roll when unrolling and re-rolling. The re-rolling cradle has a pivotal adjustment about a vertical axis for receiving the material. A measuring arrangement on the apparatus measures the length of sheet to cut at a desired length. The measuring arrangement is automatically calibrated using spaced detectors.

  • Patent number: 5938145
Abstract: A powered carousel for storing spools of wire. The wire carousel comprises an upright support frame having a carousel on the support frame mounting a plurality of carrier frames, each carrier frame has a plurality of removable shafts for mounting spools of wire. Each removable shaft is positively secured by a locking mechanism which positively engages each end of the shaft. This helps prevent a shaft from accidentally coming free from the frame and falling from the carousel possibly causing injury to the individual operating the carousel or to bystanders. To provide for the efficient storage of small spools of wire a removable Ferris wheel is mounted on one or more of the shafts. The Ferris wheel includes a plurality of rods for mounting spools of wire arranged annularly therearound and is mounted for rotation on the shaft. The carrier frames have been improved to further improve access to the spools of wire and to improve the stability of the carrier frames.
