  • Patent number: 7890575
Abstract: A delegated environment manager for identifying and inventorying characteristics associated with user's delegated environments. The inventory of the characteristics associated with a particular delegated environment is stored for later retrieval. Upon receiving a request to recreate a previously stored delegated environment, the delegated environment manager retrieves the inventory of the characteristics associated with the requested delegated environment and compares that inventory of characteristics with an inventory of characteristics associated with a user's current delegated environment. Differences between the two inventories are identified and the delegated environment manager alters characteristics as necessary to recreate the previously stored delegated environment.

  • Patent number: 5623585
Abstract: A reproduction apparatus such as a copier/printer includes a plurality of job image buffers (JIBs). Each JIB includes a compressor for compressing rasterized image data, a memory store for storing compressed rasterized image data and an expander for expanding the compressed rasterized image data. An electronic writer has a plurality of writing components, with each component being associated with a respective segment of an image to be simultaneously recorded. A writer interface is operatively connected to the JIBs and the writing components for simultaneously outputting to the writing components data for a respective image segment to be recorded by its respective writing component. A controller controls flow of data to the JIBs so that each of the plural JIBs receives data for only one respective segment of each page of image data.

  • Patent number: 5384646
Abstract: An apparatus and method for processing image data operates in a high capacity or a high quality mode. In the former a single bit per pixel is created and processed along one of two identical processing paths. The processing paths involve compression, buffering and expansion for output to a writer interface. The processing path selected for pixels in each image frame is in accordance with the most available buffering memory. In the latter mode two bits per pixel, a more significant bit (MSB) and a less significant bit (LSB) are created and processed simultaneously along the two processing paths. The processing path for each is selected in accordance with the LSB being processed by the processing path with the most available memory. As compression of the LSBs is not as efficient as that of the MSBs, the number of document pages stored in the compression buffers is maximized.
