    Abstract: A fluid flow control device for use in heat pump systems is provided. The device includes an elongated body shaped to define a plurality of lines of contact along the elongated body which reduces operational noise and which improves fluid flow characteristics. In a preferred embodiment, the device includes four or six lines of contact. The device may also include a highly angled nose region to improve seating and stability.
