  • Publication number: 20140000814
Abstract: One evaporator includes a housing defining a generally enclosed interior area and a stepped cascade separating the interior area into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The stepped cascade includes sequential trays and risers. At least one tray has a hole connecting the upper chamber with the lower chamber, and at least one riser has a hole connecting the upper chamber with the lower chamber. An input device selectively introduces wastewater into the upper chamber, and a heat source selectively introduces heat into the lower chamber sufficient to evaporate water from the wastewater atop and passing through the stepped cascade. A gas exit provides a passage for gas from the interior area to outside the housing.

  • Publication number: 20080179228
Abstract: A compact, self-contained apparatus for treating wastewater containing as impurities and pollutants various non-volatile (at water boiling points) fluids such as greases, oils and soaps. The apparatus includes a vessel for collecting the wastewater and a heating chamber including waste oil burners and a heat transfer liquid such as mineral oil to heat the wastewater mixture to boil off the water and to reduce the volume of liquid for disposal. A wastewater supply tank may be positioned under the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6887344
Abstract: A compact, self-contained apparatus for treating wastewater containing as impurities and pollutants various non-volatile (at water boiling points) fluids such as greases, oils and soaps, a vessel for collecting the wastewater, a heating chamber including electric heating elements and a heat transfer liquid such as mineral oil to heat the wastewater admixture to boil off the water and to reduce the volume of liquid for disposal, and a wastewater supply tank positioned under the apparatus. The apparatus may further include a disposable liner to isolate the wastewater from the vessel itself and facilitate rapid and clean removal and disposal of waste material after evaporation of the water, and thermally-activated sensors to maintain a desired temperature differential between the heating elements and the heat transfer liquid contained in the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6200428
Abstract: Wastewater treatment apparatus having a fluid receiving vessel for collecting and heating wastewater to a temperature below boiling, a superheated vaporizing chamber and at least one spray head to spray wastewater into the vaporizing chamber for conversion of the wastewater to vapor to be withdrawn from the apparatus, with the contaminants in the wastewater collected in the apparatus for separate removal.

  • Patent number: 5582680
Abstract: A compact, transportable and self-contained apparatus for treating wastewater containing as impurities and pollutants various non-volatile (at water boiling points) fluids such as greases, oils and soaps, having a vessel/evaporator for receiving the wastewater, a heater below the evaporator to heat the wastewater admixture and boil off the water, a collector to draw off the non-volatile fluids from substantially the entire height of the water evaporator, and automatic refill/shutdown control devices for the apparatus.
