Abstract: The present invention relates to a stable, aqueous wrinkle controlling and, optionally, odor-absorbing, composition, preferably for use on fabric. The composition preferably comprises fabric lubricant, shape retention polymer, lithium salts, and/or plasticizers for wrinkle control and, optionally, from about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin. Optionally, the composition can contain low molecular weight polyols; metallic salts to help control odor; nonionic surfactants to improve performance and formulatability, a humectant, etc. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric. The composition is preferably applied as small particle size droplets, especially from spray containers which preferably are in association with instructions for use, especially when the composition comprises only water and perfume.

Abstract: Disclosed are hair styling compositions which comprise from about 5% to about 90% by weight of a polyalkylene glycol styling agent that is substantially free of polyalkylene glyceryl ethers, and that has a number average molecular weight of from about 190 to about 1500 and from about 5 to about 35 repeating alkylene oxide radicals wherein each of the repeating alkylene oxide radicals has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; from about 1% to about 90% by weight of a liquid carrier which can comprise water, an organic solvent, or combinations thereof; and, optionally, from about 5% to about 40% by weight of a propellant.

Abstract: An article for the delivery of personal care foams including a package comprising a container having flexible, deformable walls, an opening portion, a first sponge and a foaming composition. The package also includes at least one temperature changing element. The temperature changing element may include an anhydrous reaction, heats of solution, oxidation reactions, crystallization, electro-chemical heaters, zeolite-liquid systems and heats of neutralization. Further, the container may also include a second sponge.

Abstract: The present invention relates to personal care compositions. These compositions comprise an adhesive copolymer and a solvent for the copolymer selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, acetone, propylene glycol, and mixtures thereof. The compositions, when dried, exhibit a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3, and an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs. Preferred are hairspray embodiments of the present invention having improved removeability from hair as defined by a hair stiffness value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) and a hair flaking value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale), which values are determined by the removeability methodology defined herein.

Abstract: The present invention relates to hair styling compositions and in particular to hair spray compositions. These compositions comprise a silicone containing adhesive copolymer, having a weight average molecular weight from about 10,000 to about 5,000,000, and a solvent for said copolymer selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, and mixtures thereof. The spray compositions, when dried, have a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3 and , preferably an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs. Abstract: The present invention relates to hairspray compositions comprising from about 50% to about 99.9% by weight of an alcohol solvent, and from about 0.1% to about 30% by weight of a silicone-containing adhesive block copolymer having a weight average molecular weight from about 10,000 grams/mole to about 10,000,000 grams/mole and which is formed from the free radical polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with select silicone macroinitiators, preferably silicone macroazoinitiators. Abstract: Hair care compositions which provide improved styling and hair conditioning properties are disclosed. The compositions comprise from about 0.1% to about 10.0% of a specifically-defined silicone copolymer and from about 0.5% to about 99.5% of a carrier suitable for application to hair. These compositions are characterized by the fact that, when dried, the polymer phase separates into a discontinuous phase which includes a silicone macromer and a continuous phase which includes the copolymer backbone.
