  • Patent number: 8767942
Abstract: Broadcasting data streams to telephony devices via talk paths, wherein audio data streams are muted based on connection states of each of the plurality of talk paths. Each telephony device sends an input audio data stream to a media server via a respective talk path. The media server combines input audio data streams received from the telephony devices to generate output audio data streams for sending to the telephony devices via the respective talk paths. For each telephony device, a determination is made as to whether to mute the respective output audio data stream. The determination is based on connection states of each of the talk paths.

  • Patent number: 8281039
Abstract: A system for multimedia communications implemented with reconfigurable technology is disclosed. The system includes: a SIP engine implemented in hardware that executes functions defined by Session Initiation Protocol (SIP); a XML engine implemented in hardware that executes functions defined by Extensible Markup Language (XML); and an interface that coordinates functions executed by the SIP engine and the XML engine. A standard set of features are provided for robust communications while permitting the addition of more features to enhance the multimedia communications experience. For example, audio and video communication, instant messaging and presence can be provided by the system while P2P and IP Multimedia Systems (IMS) can be provided through expansion. Reconfigurable technology allows the system to achieve optimal performance in performing various tasks.

  • Patent number: 6926265
Abstract: A protective bumper or guard having a substantial thickness of semi-rigid material formed in a geometric configuration, such as a dome, which will not catch or snag personnel or garments moving about structures such as posts having jagged edges or points. The protective bumper or guard incorporates a downwardly depending shaft having one end exposed in the form of a wedge for insertion between crimped portions of the damaged structure, while the opposite end of the shaft includes a head for retaining the shaft in a secured fitting with the semi-rigid pad or body. Preferably, the semi-rigid pad or body is dome-shaped, having a flat bottom, whereby sharp edges and points of damaged structure can impact or slightly penetrate into the material when the wedge has been inserted into the crimped closing of the post or structure. A sufficient portion of the pad or body exists between the secured portion of the shaft with the body so that a person engaging the pad will not feel or snag on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4143261
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus capable of effecting relative movement between the oval-like girth or circumference of a workpiece and tool means while maintaining the planar and radial workpiece surfaces in a fixed plane relative to the tool means as they are exposed thereto. The apparatus is especially useful in laser welding an oval-like girth joint around a workpiece since the workpiece surface is always maintained in a substantially fixed plane relative to the lens which focuses the laser beam, thereby maintaining proper beam focusing and angle of beam incidence on the surface throughout the entire welding process. For laser welding, the apparatus includes a base in a fixed plane relative to the focusing lens, means for effecting relative translational movement between the base and lens, and bearing and shaft means, including chuck means, for holding the workpiece in proper relation to the lens and for rotating the workpiece about longitudinal axes through the radii of the oval-like workpiece girth.
