  • Patent number: 4669049
Abstract: An adapter to permit a temperature measuring instrument ordinarily used with a thermistor temperature sensor to be used with a temperature probe of the thermocouple type. The adapter has an output for connection to the temperature measuring instrument and has circuitry for processing the signal from the thermocouple probe to produce at the adapter output a resistance which a thermistor sensor would generate at the same temperature. A temperature measuring instrument for efficient use of an electrical source has circuitry for processing a temperature related signal according to a sequence of operations to provide an electrical variable having a value which is a function of the temperature being measured. The sequence commences with connection of the electrical source to the processing circuitry. At the completion of the sequence a signal indicative of completion is produced. In responsive to the completion signal the electrical source is disconnected from the processing circuitry.

  • Patent number: 4392005
Abstract: A temperature sensor comprising a pair of insulated dissimilar metallic conductors joined at one of their ends to form a thermojunction, and a connector comprising an elongate backing strip of dielectric sheet material. The other ends of the conductors are positioned to extend generally transversely across one face of the strip and are spaced apart longitudinally of the strip. A facing strip of dielectric material on the backing strip overlies the ends of the conductors and has openings therein exposing bare uninsulated portions of the ends of the conductors to provide electrical contacts whereby on insertion of the connector into a mating connector the contacts are engaged by corresponding contacts in the mating connector for making respective electrical connections.

  • Patent number: 4121462
Abstract: Temperature indicating apparatus having a sensor for introduction into a region having a temperature to be measured. Circuitry responsive to the sensor supplies an electrical signal representative of the temperature in the region. A display provides a visual indication of the temperature in the region and includes a plurality of temperature indicators each of which represents a discrete temperature level. Circuitry responsive to the electrical signal selectively illuminates at any one time only that indicator which corresponds to the temperature represented by the electrical signal at that time.
