    Abstract: A security system for a shipping container includes a cover and seal pin, and a special removal tool for removing the pin from the cover. The cover includes a vertical channel with top and bottom plates mounted therein to form a rearwardly opening box. A pair of vertically aligned apertures in the top and bottom plates are aligned with apertures in ears of a hasp on the shipping container, and receive the seal pin to secure the cover to the container. A seal pin includes an elongated shaft with annular grooves in the upper and lower ends. A pair of end caps each includes an annular groove on their interior surfaces that correspond with the shaft grooves to retain a locking ring within the pair of aligned grooves, when the caps are snapped on the ends of the shaft. The locking rings prevent removal of the caps, once snapped into place on the shaft. A removal tool includes a hydraulic pump with a punch secured to a piston of the pump.

    Abstract: A rotary lock seal includes a pin with an elongated shaft and an enlarged head at a rearward end. The forward end of the shaft has a peg projecting coaxially therefrom. An end cap has an enlarged head at a forward end and a central bore extending forwardly through the rearward end, forming an annular sidewall. An annular groove on the inner surface of the cap sidewall corresponds with a groove formed on the peg to retain a locking ring within the pair of aligned grooves when the cap is positioned over the peg on the pin. The locking ring prevents removal of the cap once secured on the pin.

    Abstract: A kingpin lock includes a vertically-oriented tube with a conical shell formed by a plurality of gussets projecting radially from the tube. The gussets are triangular in shape, so that the conical shape tapers from the upper end to the lower end of the tube. A plunger type lock is mounted on the tube and is operable to move a securement pin into a notch on the kingpin to secure the kingpin within the tube, and to withdraw the pin from the notch to permit removal of the kingpin from the tube.

    Abstract: A security cover with releasable lock includes a rearwardly opening steel box secured over the ears of a hasp assembly on a cargo container, with the hasp ears positioned within the box. An operable lock is mounted on the box, for selectively securing the hasp ears by the selective positioning of a pin through the ears of the hasp within the box. In the preferred embodiment, the lock is a plunger type lock with a plug connected to the pin and operable to selectively slide the pin into journaled engagement with the hasp ears.
