Abstract: A wheel mounting assembly includes one or more nut assemblies, one for each lug stud receiving hole as provided in the wheel disc. Each nut assembly comprises a lug nut captively connected to the wheel disc by a coiled spring, with the spring configured and positioned such that the axes of the nut and disc hole remain coincident as the wheel is mounted upon the vehicle axle and the lug studs engage and axially displace the respective nuts. One spring end is affixed to the wheel disc adjacent each hole and the opposite end thereof is slidably disposed within an external recess int he nut body.
