  • Patent number: 9807579
Abstract: When establishing an emergency connection in a wireless network having an authentication server, wherein a user terminal is a non-subscriber to the network, a dialed number is recognized as an emergency number and the terminal sends a start-up message to a radio access point of the network. The terminal receives a first message that requests the identity of the terminal, from the access point in response to the start-up message, and sends a second message, which contains the identity of the terminal and an indication indicating that the terminal is attempting to make an emergency call. An authentication server determines that the second message contains an indication that the call is an emergency call, and sends an acceptance message to the terminal via the access point wherein a port of the access point is validated to permit the terminal to establish an emergency connection.

  • Patent number: 8457683
Abstract: In the method for establishing communication to a remote terminal from the mobile terminal operating in dual mode, the terminal considers a contact corresponding to the remote terminal. The contact has a string of characters including an identification field containing an identifier of the remote terminal and a description field containing at least one character corresponding to a category to which the identifier contained within the identification field belongs. The terminal analyzes the string of characters. The terminal considers the value of the description field. A rule for establishing communication corresponding to the value is determined. The value of the identification field is considered. A request to establish communication in accordance with the rule is sent to the remote terminal.

  • Patent number: 8428049
Abstract: If a given terminal (IPP1) requests the setting up of an emergency call, the method consists in: assigning that terminal to a first virtual network (VLAN1) having a priority higher than that of any virtual network to which a terminal requesting the setting up of a non-urgent call is assigned, the given terminal then using the first virtual network to send in broadcast mode a message addressed in particular to an emergency call server (EMSR); assigning this terminal to a second virtual network (VLAN2) having a priority higher than that of any virtual network to which a terminal that is requesting the setting up of a non-urgent call is assigned, the emergency call server (EMSR) then using the second virtual network to respond to the given terminal in unicast mode.

  • Publication number: 20110054339
Abstract: In order to distinguish between a breathing phase and a non-breathing phase, it comprises steps consisting, for each stethoscope signal sample, of: —filtering (71) the stethoscope signal in order to eliminate the stethoscope signal's low frequencies, with the cutoff frequency preferentially being 500 Hz. —calculating (72) an energy value Eh for each sample of the filtered signal, —calculating (73) the mean energy Eh_moy of the filtered signal, —then making a decision (74), Breathing or Non-Breathing, based on the value of the difference Eh?Eh_moy for that sample.

  • Patent number: 7813378
Abstract: Here is described a method, a near end telecommunications terminal and a computer executable software code which allow to perform a telecommunications with a far end telecommunications terminal providing the option of applying a narrowband encoding technique without loosing the benefit of a wideband encoding technique. This is achieved after setting up a telecommunications between that near end telecommunications terminal and the far end telecommunications terminal by applying by the codec from the near end telecommunications terminal a sampling when encoding corresponding to a wideband encoding technique while assembling the resulting timeslots into frames to be transmitted to the far end telecommunications terminal via RTP.

  • Patent number: 7783020
Abstract: This method is used to send data representative of the location of communication terminals (T) to a call center (ECC) without using information processing means in the terminals and to send via heterogeneous communication networks (RP, RPT). This method consists, in the event of requesting the setting up of a telephone call between a terminal (T) and the call center (ECC) by means of a dedicated calling number, in sending the call center a signaling message for setting up the connection and comprising a selected call identifier and a text type message including data representative of the location of the calling terminal (T) and the selected call identifier. At the call center, the method consists in associating the signaling message received by the call center with the location data contained in the text message received by the call center if the signaling message and the text message include the same call identifier.

  • Patent number: RE44325
Abstract: A method for sending a remote power feed to a terminal in a local area network. A repeater of the local area network produces a detection test signal in a line to which a remote terminal is connected, and the signal has an energy level that will not damage the terminal. The presence of a remote terminal adapted to receive a remote power feed via the repeater is detected by detecting the presence of a predetermined impedance in the terminal, and power is supplied to the terminal via the repeater in response to detection of the presence of the terminal.
