  • Patent number: 4608820
Abstract: A fuel control for a gas turbine engine has an actuator (24) for a fuel metering valve (22) which includes two stepper motors (46 and 48) which selectively drive a differential mechanism operatively connected to the valve. The differential mechanism includes two identical gear assemblies (60, 64) which are mounted for rotation upon a shaft (26) connected to the valve. The gear assemblies include worm gears (58, 62) in engagement with worms (54, 56) driven by the stepper motors and bevel gears (68, 70). A spider bevel gear (66), carried by the shaft, is in meshing engagement with the bevel gears of the gear assemblies such that rotation of one of the gear assemblies with the other at rest causes a circumferential movement of the spider bevel gear which rotates the shaft and positions the valve. Two identical electronic control units (A, B), which each sense selected engine parameters are respectively connected to the stepper motors for controlling their operation.

  • Patent number: 4418273
Abstract: A conversion mechanism for selective conversion of a conventional mechanical fuel pump computer to selectively extend the unit volume price range of the computer while maintaining the rotational speed of the right hand cost and volume counter wheels of the computer within acceptable limits and mathematical correspondence of the volume counter readout with the cost counter readout and the established unit volume price. The conversion mechanism comprises cost and volume drive ratio selector mechanisms and one or more sets of single transfer, double transfer and quadruple transfer right hand cost counter wheels and a decimal point selector mechanism for shifting the decimal point of the unit volume price setting and/or cost counter readout.

  • Patent number: 4292506
Abstract: Means for converting a fuel pump computer from a maximum unit volume price of 99 and 9/10 cents established by a conventional mechanical variator of the computer to a higher maximum unit volume price of either $1.49 and 9/10 cents or $1.99 and 9/10 cents and employing a selective adder mechanism installed in a mechanical register of the computer for manually selectively adding either $0.50 or $1.00 to a base unit volume price established by the variator.

  • Patent number: 4273995
Abstract: A fuel pump register cost counter having a transfer pinion permitting count transfers from the units to the tens counter wheel at a substantially predetermined maximum torque through a torsion spring connection between input and output gear sections of the transfer pinion and which prevents transfer overtravel and oscillation and provides for accurately locating the tens counter wheel.

  • Patent number: 4155275
Abstract: A torque tool has a shaft which is driven by an input motor to transmit torque through an output gear. Reactive torque generated in reaction to the output torque is transmitted through a floating reaction ring gear to a brake assembly by means connecting the floating or rotatable ring gear to the brake assembly. The brake assembly is retained against rotation by resilient spring means of a preselected rotation resistance strength. Upon attainment of a preselected output torque and concomitant reactive torque, the brake assembly is shifted against the resistance offered by the springs so that the brake assembly contacts and brakes the shaft to limit the torque transmitted thereby. The means connecting the rotating ring gear to the brake assembly may include additional gear means designed to take up a portion of the reactive torque so that only a preselected balance of the total reactive torque is available to overcome the resistance offered by the resilient springs.

  • Patent number: 4136573
Abstract: Conversion of a fuel pump computer price variator from a three place to a four place unit volume price range and comprising an auxiliary higher place take-off shaft parallel to and having a coaxial gear in engagement with the variator cone gear, an additional summation differential mounted at the top of the variator coaxially with the cone gear and substantially within a stepped dome-like projection of a modified cost variator cover for combining an auxiliary higher place price output to the conventional three place price output, an idler gear in operative engagement with and mounted on a lever for pivotal movement about the additional summation differential for selective engagement with one or more take-off shaft driven gears, and, auxiliary price posting shutters connected to the lever for displaying the higher place price setting.

  • Patent number: 3984004
Abstract: A display and storage assembly has an arcuate front face with openings therein to a multiplicity of tubular container members for receiving, storing and displaying goods. The assembly includes a plurality of vertically spaced body members having arcuate edge surfaces about which is formed the arcuate front cover member. A flexible sheet material back support member also extends in an arcuate configuration in spaced relationship to the cover member and is provided with apertures aligned with those of the cover member. The tubular container members are supported between the cover member and back support member and have a front rim element with a tubular body portion extending through the aperture of the cover member into telescoping engagement with a tubular body element, while a flange or rim portion abuts and is engaged with the outer surface of the cover member.
