  • Publication number: 20240090394
Abstract: Facility layouts and configurations for an automated crop production system for controlled environment agriculture. In particular implementations, the core of the facility comprises a controlled growth environment and a central processing system. The controlled growth environment includes systems for exposing crops housed in modules, such as grow towers, to controlled environmental conditions. The central processing system may include various stations and functionality both for preparing crop-bearing modules to be inserted in the controlled growth environment, for harvesting crops from the crop-bearing modules after they have been extracted from the controlled growth environment, and for cleaning or washing crop-bearing modules for re-use. The controlled growth environment may include vertical farming structure having vertical grow towers and associated conveyance mechanisms for moving the vertical grow towers along one or more grow lines.

  • Publication number: 20240022888
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems and methods for providing an emergency alert notification. An electronic communication device can receive, from an alert generation device, a low power advertising packet responsive to an action performed on the alert generation device. Before the action is performed, the alert generation device can be in a low power state, such as a sleep state, to conserve battery. The action can cause the alert generation device to transition from the low power state to a second state in which the alert generation device begins transmitting the advertising packet. The electronic communication device can identify at least one emergency contact to receive an alert based on a contact policy and can determine an alert type based on the contact policy. The electronic communication device can generate the alert including a request for assistance and can transmit the alert to the at least one emergency contact.

  • Patent number: 4937270
Abstract: A method for making a water insouble bicompatible gel includes activating HA with an activating agent to form activated HA, and reacting the activated HA with a nucleophile, under conditions producing the water insoluble bicompatible gel. Also, a method for making a water insoluble biocompatible film includes providing a biocompatible gel made according to the above method, and drying the gel or compressing the gel under conditions permitting escape of water from the gel. Also, a water insoluble composition including HA is prepared without the use of any bifunctional or polyfunctional nucleophile.

  • Patent number: 4764213
Abstract: A lithographic fountain solution concentrate is disclosed, the essential components of which comprises an aqueous mixture of:(a) from about 0.1 to 1.5 percent by weight of a water soluble film forming hydrophilic gum;(b) from about 0.75 to about 8.5 percent by weight of Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone;(c) from about 5.0 to about 30.0 percent by weight of a water soluble acid etchant;(d) from about 20.0 to about 50.0 percent by weight of a water soluble or water miscible glycol; and(e) from about 0.01 to about 1.25 percent by weight of a phosphate/phosphoric acid buffer system. The concentrate is adapted for further dilution by water to yield a fountain solution which when used in the printing process offers decreased scumming and blinding of printing plates while at the same time permitting a reduction in the amount of water applied to the plate. Improved print quality, reduced tendency to wet the paper, faster ink drying and improved ink/water balance is thereby achieved.
